I hope they don't try to pull off a reader's digest version of the first two movies. I think they could get away with telling us about the mother during a campfire story scene, like how they did it in Part 2.

I'm against remakes usually, but in this case it would be awesome. I want to see a movie featuring a Human Jason again, not Zombie Jason.

This would be great news. If the new Halloween does okay, then this is surely a no-brainer. Excellent news. Scripting should be a breeze.

Even if "Zombie" gets it, he will not manage to make it any worse than "Jason X" or "Freddy versus Jason".

I was just thinking yesterday if they'll revive this franchise or not. Since I'm no fan of remakes, I'd be down for a sequel of the actual Friday the 13th series taking off from after the craptacular part 8. Seems as though all the movie series have died off in favor of remaking the originals instead and I'd just rather have the franchise keep going instead.

wrong......, although the movie was filmed in the fall 1979, it was filmed with the intention of it being released in summer 1980 in month where the 13th day fell on a friday, which was june 13th , 1980...thus the title of the original film,

    according to the calender

    june 13th 1979 fell on a wednesday

    june 13th 1980 fell on a friday

and please don't bring up the fact that the tombstone in part 4 , said 1979, because that was a obvious oversight error, and my point was in reference to rhett's statement about jason's rapid maturity between part 1 and part 2....

and part 4 was not part of sean cunninham's vision...........:)

    Forget the redue.

Bring on - Friday the 13th Part 11

Let John Carl Buechler or Adam Green direct.

And use you know who as Jason. Its a no brainer.

God, I hope not. Buechler is the least talented FX guy in the genre. All of his monsters look like rubber.

Well if part 4 was not part of Cunningham's original vision, then you can say the same about part 2. You look at any F13 timeline and they'll have the events of the first film as taking place in 1979.

........the issue at hand if u consider RHETTS comment, was a debate of jason's age at the end of friday the 13th ...

the second film we know he's an adult as we can see...the question at hand was his age in the original film...

and the timelines around the net, that means nothing, they were made by fans......who r also judging by the tombstone, not by the date meant by cunningham himself

the fact remains regardless of what the fanboys write, or what u say.....as far as the film goes,. FRIDAY JUNE 13TH , PRESENT DAY , refers to 1980.(the year the film was planned for and was released)....................... june 13th 1979 was a wednesday!!!!!!

I was questioning more the transition of undead kid Jason turning into grown-up Zombie Hulk. I really don't remember if it were introduced in Part II, so forgive my short-term memory, but Jason died a kid, came back an undead man. Right?

Unless I am totally forgetting something, I can see why going from Killah Momz with dead kid issues to Dead Kid at Bottom of the Lake to Undead, Muscle-Bound Killah Zombie might be a transition they address in the remake (if it even turns out to be a remake).
