Quite extensive to say the least. Pretty cool to see it all listed out. Entertaining read through if not at least for going down memory lane.

Follow the links to see them. Unfortunately way too long to print here with all the descriptions.

(Obviously all spoilers for those who have yet to see any of the films.)

    Part 1 - Kill 187 through 51

All credits go to Jacob Hall from Slashfilm.

His take on the ranking the movies themselves in case anybody is interested.

    Very cool!

I agree with kills 1 and 2. The wheel chair is definitely my all time favorite Jason kill and I can't argue with the frozen face smash.

But the kill they list at number 80 is in my top 3-5 Jason kills. Melissa from part 7. Axe to the face then thrown like a rag doll behind the tv. The sound the axe makes sounds like wood (because, that's what it is.....they used wood lol) and her lifeless body being thrown..... It's just an all time favorite of mine. Can't believe they have it at number 80.

I agree, way way higher imo too. It's like a double effect, kill than discard. Plus it shows Jason's brute strength, and the fact he was quite pissed off at that moment.

Yup. I actually just watched part 7 last night on the projector. Did a quick rewind at that kill as once just isn't enough. That whole fucking movie has incredible kills. Sleeping bag, head crush.... he's one strong pissed off maaaaaaafacka in that one.

yeah, the head crush is ranked 160. That would way high for me too, not top 10 but much much higher than 160. And that's the R version. Uncut bumps it even higher.

also highly disagree with number 81 from Jason Goes to Hell. The tent impaling-split in half kill is also an all time favorite of mine. Top 10 for me.

In the top 50 there is quite a lot of the 2009 film kills. I guess that would make the remake fans very happy. My opinion there shouldn't be that many ranked so high. Fun list regardless.

No, number one should be Marcie's death. They have it at # 8 and Andy should be #2- not at #7. Damn, it had to take quite a bit of time to put all of that together. I do like Mark's death but it shouldn't be # 1.

I have to go though that list. I don't think I've ever seen anyone rank all of Jason's kills before.

I love the sleeping bag kill in part 7. Always makes me laugh.

But yeah my fav death is probably Marcie's in part 1. The scream is terrible but I love the way it's set up, the shadow of the axe rising in the background, and the makeup work is just flawless. It's genuinely shocking when you see her fall against the wall with an axe lodged in her face.

Mark's wheelchair death in part 2 is also definitely up there. I love the way that scene cuts to the couple having sex. Really well done.

Also, anybody else think that Jack's death in part 1 looks better in the cut version? I think the scene works better when it abruptly cuts to the next scene instead of the overhead shot in the uncut version that tbh looks kind of fake. What do you guys think?

I agree with you. F13 is actually one of the rare series in which I don't mind the quick cuts during some kill scenes. I emphasis SOME though. I love the sleeping bag kill from 7 we've both mentioned, but the uncut scene has Jason smash her up against the tree several times, not just one. Which is just all kinds of awesome.

I'm doing one right now... It's hard.

I wish I could post it here in clip form but... I'm going to make it with photos, but it will be a slideshow kind of thing on YouTube.

Kills were more effective when they were quicker cuts, whether that be by censor trimming or just the style chosen. Now you get films that linger 0n the death, which, unless you're Fulci / know how to do it... don't. I can't believe that remake apologist put Chewie's death in the 20s, out of all the others that could have been chosen. That, to me, was a potentially cool death, completely ruined.
