What model TV do you have? Was thinking of buying a new tv with 3d and a decent conversion option would be great.

yeah, i think most people would take any of the paramount films over any of the new line films any day of the week.

i get what you were saying about it not feeling right to shoehorn in the post-paramount titles (despite the fact that this seems to be what is actually getting people excited in some cases). i love the original cast Star Trek, for example, but have no use for anything else. so i bought the dvd set that had parts 1 through 6. in no way does it feel "incomplete". same with the crystal lake to manhattan set. or the original new line nightmare set. both of those were complete, imo.

re-read it, it is obvious sarcasm when he calls shocker a masterpiece.
O have Part IV as the best Friday film by a fairly wide margin myself.

I thought it was missing the uncut Part 1 and the Killer Cut of the remake too.

Thanks. Green version of Part 6 confirmed.

Yeah. I might be sticking with my DVD of Part 6. Blu-ray for the rest. Unless there is something else I don't know about.

Just picked up my set at Best Buy. Very disappointed. The spine has nothing on it and the bonus disc is literally the exact same dvd Paramount included in the 2004 set.

I was aware of the spine thing but not the bonus disc just being the DVD.

The transfer for JGTH is all over the place. Sometimes it looks alright, but some shots are really soft and the black levels are a little inconsistent. Same for the audio. Some spots it's too quiet and you can barely hear dialog, while others are bombastic and and all of a sudden theres a surge of volume. I don't know you guys, but I remember the dts track on the dvd being a little more consistent than this. I really hope WB hears enough out cry and they do some sort of disc replacement, pretty embarrassing that the first Friday film that was offered in an unrated version for home video isn't released here in that version, with sub par A/V to boot.

We could petition for it... don't know how much notice they take of those things though. I do think they should fix the disc and offer a replacement.

It's just sad that the film is offered in its unrated version, in almost every possible media out let, from VHS, all the way to the digital itunes version, but yet that can't be included in this supposed "complete" collection. All the other films look and sound great, except for this one and not having the cut that all the fans know is superior is just frustrating.

I think the it's just as bad that the audio is dodgy and the image is inconstant. I'd want those fixed too as well as the unrated version which is baffling as to why it isn't here because as you mentioned it's available in HD on iTunes.

Isn't Warner sticking to theatrical cuts for all of their blu-ray's now?

Yes, they have a policy against releasing Unrated films. They've had it since 2009 around when Hills Run Red was released. Even the "Killer Cut" of the Friday The 13th remake has an R-rating.

I don't know how strict they were about it, but they seem to really be cracking down lately with Jason Goes To Hell, Sliver, and Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning.

The reason the first Friday The 13th got a pass was because Paramount had already mastered the disc.
