Yeah I mean I guess I can see why people were unhappy with it, but I found the set to be fine. Sure there were no new extras but after the Crystal Lake Memories doc came out, there's really nothing more that can be said about the series. That doc is pretty much the final word. I wanted parts 1-8 in HD with good transfers and that's exactly what I got.

I won't be purchasing these movies again.

Has anyone watched the Ultraviolet copy of JASON GOES TO HELL? Does it look better than the DVD? I did see zbinks comments that it looked bad on his setup.

I'm thinking about finally pulling the trigger at Best Buy for $80.

With how cheap I got the Halloween set for and the fact that the NOES and Child's Play sets can be had for under $40, I still can't justify the near $90 price tag on this. When it's around $50, I'll bite.

To answer my question, the Ultraviolet copy of JASON GOES TO HELL looks damn good on the VUDU player running on my PS3. Its a huge upgrade over the DVD.

I couldn't resist this set any longer despite it not being a great value for me. Since I have all of the previous blu-rays and Deluxe DVDs, this didn't have much to offer. The HD upgrade from the DVDs for Parts 4, 5 and 7 isn't going to add to much to the viewing expierence. I am looking forward to seeing the improvement for JASON X and JASON GOES TO HELL but that's hardly worth $80. I hate the metal tin pacakaging. If it wasn't for those Ultraviolet codes I think I could have held out longer.

Finally found this for an acceptable (though still not great) price. Came to about $5.20 per movie, although I already have 1 - 3 and the remake on blu-ray. Hopefully selling those off, along with the Crystal Lake To Manhattan boxset and other DVD versions, will help pad the cost a bit.

It'll be nice to clean up some shelf space and have all the movies in one place.

Barnes & Noble. They currently have 40% off blu-rays ($77.99), plus they had a 20% off coupon yesterday HOLIDAY14 ($62.39).

What he said that he said.

LOVE F13, don't mind the things that aren't perfect, not willing to drop that amount of dough on it.

Tempted on the NOES, but man, most of those have very little re-watchability for me. I really only like 1, 3, and New Nightmare. And 2, for the comedy.

If you have the DVDs, you can probably sell them to make up most of the cost. That's what I did, I think I was even able to sell them for more than I paid for the blu-ray set.

For sure. I have the blu of the original already and sold 1 and 3 on DVD years ago. It's more about just not thinking I'll watch them.

I really hope they will release a new boxset at some point with original artwork on individual cases, a commentary for Part 2 and unrated version of Jason goes to Hell.

I'm surprised this set is still so expensive. I expected it to drop it price a long time ago.

When it hits $50, I'm all over it.

We have a Friday The 13th coming up in Feb. Maybe then....

Same. I purchased the Child's Play collection and Nightmare on Elm St for under $40, each. This set is of a similar quality so I will wait until it falls into that range.

So I'm noticing this has been out of stock for a few weeks on Amazon...mayhaps it's gone out of print in favor of individual releases or a less than deluxe collector's box set?
