Yeah agree and both these box sets are WB owned.
Might only get this under these circumstances, first.part 1 needs to be frame corrected, second. part 3 needs the first boxset commentary carried over and a better picture, and part 4 needs to be improved over the deluxe dvd..
01- Part 1 unrated always had issues with the framing, even on the R2 DVD, as many people believe the new blu will only be a port of the old one, only reviews will clear that.
02- I´m not into commentaries but yes, that was missing from the previous box.
03- Enough said that if it´s blu, then it´s 100% sure it´s an improvement over the existing deluxe dvd.
Yea Part 1 won't be frame corrected. That is the correct picture for the UNRATED CUT. I grew up with it looking like that in Australia. As far as I'm aware you don't lose any important details in the frame so it's no big loss.
I seriously hope it's brand new transfers for Part's 1-3 especially Part 3.
I suspect that the disc they used for Part 4 is a un-released paramount disc.
I'm a $100 away from having the full amount that is required to buy this.
I'm awaiting a pre-order for this.
I already sold my Part 1,2,3,FVJ & Remake disc.
Part 3 is gonna be hard to made look any better cause of the grainy film stock it was shot on. and iam sure the whole 3-D process doesn't help. It was only made to be seen on the big screen with the type of 3D seen 1982 style........
I'll be very surprised if WB does any new transfers for 1-3.
Children of the Corn V Fields of Terror has a great transfer then certainly Friday the 13th Part III could have a excellent transfer
I just want to know if it's going to have both cuts of Jason goes to Hell or not. Any word on when they plan to release more specific information about the set or do we have to wait for reviews.
I'd also like to know that as well as if the special features from the deluxe editions will be here. I don't want to get rid of my dvds if they don't include that stuff.
I've learned these lessons the hard way in the past. No way I'm selling or trading anything until I have the set in my hands.
What did you get stooged on?
Agreed, I share that same philosophy.
The one that pissed me off the most is when Arrow first announced their Demons blu-rays they were supposed to be region free, so I sold off my Anchor Bay DVDs in anticipation only to have them come out and say they had to region lock them. I've since gotten a region free player, but at the time I was furious. Ever since then, I get rid of nothing until I have the newer version in my hands.
Yea that sucks. Arrow are good like that. Their blu for Phenomena had a lightly extended cut with had no english audio so not only did it make the film feel disjointed there was no option to watch it without these pointless snippets. Oh and there was also a serious subtitling problem with those scenes. They didn't make any sense when read (it was like a practical joke, I was reading them thinking wtf?) and Arrow wouldn't respond to my messages about this.
Luckily I had the steelbook dvd with 5 Argento films so I wasn't getting rid of that, but I'm sure some people would have and were pissed about this.
Amazon Preorder is up.
I had 75.00 credit on amazon too - so I used the link on this site and pre-ordered it <:
cant wait to see the reviews on this one when it comes out..
90 USD seems kind of cheap...
oh well, pre ordered at that price if it doesn't hold up to expectations so what?
Seeing as how the final chapter on blu is the only one I was ever planning on buying ( smart move by Warner), and I can't really believe 'I'm the only one
I started to like Freddy vs. Jason a lot more when I watched it a bunch of times on Starz. Mainly for Katharine Isabelle's short but great performance. Also, it was the first time seeing Monica Keena's sort of dazed acting style. Which she continues with in Night of the Demons.
But I probably won't watch the remake that much. I don't think I've seen the killer cut yet. But I'm sure that won't make it a better movie. I think even though they show more in the Friday the 13th remake, the Night of the Demons remake is a far more raunchy movie and closer to the old style horror that I grew up with. At least it felt that way.
The site reviewed both versions of Friday the 13th Part 6. The deluxe has a more green tone compared to the first release which is blue.
I have a feeling the Blu-ray will be green. That's what they had on Comcast HD a while back. I won't be getting rid of my DVD of that version if so.
