Oh jeez, that's some low numbers, but I know where you're coming from. I sell all my stuff on eBay and got way higher numbers on the Halloween standard DVD's. I just leave them up there at a certain price and if it takes a long time for them to sell so be it.

I looked at "Sold Items" on eBay at the time and it didn't look like I could do any better after factoring in fees and the trouble. There's always been a glut of those titles.

I already have my favorite Friday the 13th collection. I just want the others to watch on occasion. Or check out a few scenes.

Now $77.99 at Barnes And Noble. There's probably coupons out there that make it cheaper. Additional 10% off in stores with membership (you can do a free one month trial).

Coupon code BNDAD15 takes another $10 off.

Total including tax (if applicable) is $72.75.

Hot dang - $72.31 is damn good. I may see if I can get BestBuy to pricematch this.

Got BestBuy to price to $77.99 without issue over the phone. They won't match coupon codes unfortunately, but as long as the set isn't dented to shit I'm content. If it is, I'll just return it and order off B&N's website assuming this sale is going through the weekend.

Glad that worked out, Mutilated! I had a similar situation with Best Buy regarding a price drop on a computer monitor and they were great. Did it right over the phone, super easy and hassle free.

As for selling the previous DVDs / blu-rays, I've had good luck on eBay. Certainly better than crikan, from the looks of it. I broke even on the Halloween blu-ray set (I had 1, 4, 5, 8, and the remake on DVD, 1, SF2, SF3, 6, 8, and RZ H2 on blu-ray). With Friday The 13th, I sold a blu-ray lot of 1, 2, 3, and the remake for $28. Still haven't sold my Crystal Lake To Manhattan set yet, so that will do more to pad the cost. I made a profit selling off my previous Elm Street DVDs / blu-rays.

If you put a fair price on it and leave it up there long enough, it'll usually sell. It might take a while, but you just have to be patient. Fortunately, horror stuff generally moves the quickest.

Yeah, it was super easy surprisingly. Called up the main number, just told them my email, item ordered and website to price match at. Literally in seconds they said "OK, the price difference will be reflected on your card in 24 hrs." Very cool and well done.

You are a master eBay'er that's for sure. I'm always surprised by what you get. When I look I do see that horror sells but there is also a glut of it. You must have found a way to grab the attention of the guys who are impatient and want a specific thing immediately.

I finally sprang for this two weeks ago. It was like $90.99 from deepdiscount through amazon and I had some amazon points so I said fuck it. It's my favorite horror series. Given that Crystal Lake Memories (both book and film) kind of answered every question I had regarding the series and I'm not going to be investing in a super huge TV set to get the benefits of 4K, I see this as my final purchase of the original films.

The only way I could see myself ever rebuying these films, separately or as a set, is if some uncut prints for 2, 3, 5, 6 (this would be the easiest one to put together, at least in standard def), or 7 pop up. I would include the the Final Chapter, but honestly, I've seen the deleted footage and when comparing it to the finished film, I'm cool with the theatrical version. It's still an incredibly brutal, very gory film and they cut away from the carnage just enough to make it seem swift and impactful.

Got my Best Buy order today. Came via UPS in a cardboard box completely unscathed (no bubble wrap/padding though) and the boxset itself has no dents at all as far as I can tell. I'll do a full unwrapping later, but it seems ok.

My F13 IX Uncut download is almost complete!

That's great. I'm glad they shipped it in a box instead of those gray plastic bags. Enjoy the set. It really is a cool collection.
