Perhaps its like the other sets Paramount has released recently (referring to TV shows). Put the entire series into one large case. No fancy packaging but sell it at a discounted price. Got the Star Trek original series on BD due to this method at a great price.

Anyone notice any issues with any of their discs? I just went through the entire set recently and noticed JASON X had skipping problems during the opening credits. My Part 1 disc also had a skip or two during the first scene when the camera is showing the killer walking through the cabin with the sleeping kids.

Unfortunately this set does have playback issues. I need to watch all of my discs to ensure there aren't any problems. I skimmed through them a few years ago when the problems were initially reported.

I heard about this too. I recently watched parts 1 and 4 in October and didn’t have any issues with playback. Hopefully it doesn’t affect the other discs.

Honestly though this was such a cheap set. The “bonus disc” is literally the bonus DVD from the Crystal Lake to Manhattan DVD box set from like 13 years ago, even down to the disc label and menus.

Yeah, I just read that in an earlier post in this thread. Folks think it's because of the cardboard sleeves? I don't know about that, but I was thinking maybe if something like a coarse piece of dirt/plastic/etc. got into the sleeve it could easily scratch a disc when you pull it in/out. I can definitely see a little scratch resembling a "#" on my JASON X disc which leads me to believe something got in the sleeve. And that little piece of whatever was in there when Paramount packaged it.

That's crap. What are the chances of Paramount making good on this? Argh!

Seeing how the set is OOP, probably pretty slim. But you never know. If and when Jason X comes out in single, maybe they could give you that.

Warner released the set. Since they still have the rights to Jason X, it is possible that they could replace the disc (if they have any to send). The first F13 is back in print via Paramount, so you could contact them for a replacement. If not, the disc can be purchased for under $10.

And if you have any issues with 1-4, they reissued those on single blu-rays for cheap, so worst case scenario you can always pick those up as replacements.

There's a new blu-ray set containing the first 8 films set for release on 02/13/17 currently on Amazon for $31.99.

There aren't any further details at this point (Paramount, real 3D, etc). What's interesting is the listing indicates that it is 8 discs which of course would be different from the Warner set.

What's important to take under consideration my fine friends is there are various issues plaguing the Warner set in terms of playback with random discs. One person on bluray.com has recently stated that his/her set has been fine, but now has the skipping issues that many others (including Mutilated Prey) have had initially. For this price, I recommend preordering it whether you have the Warner set or not. I certainly did.

I apologize for bumping this thread so soon after writing my post, but I don't want you to miss out on this (especially for the price) who either don't have the films on blu-ray or may in fact have a defective set without even knowing it. Another bluray.com member posted that his/her Final Friday/Jason X disc stopped working. I know that isn't part of the new set, but other discs in the old set have had this issue since day one.

I hope they change the ugly cover but I ggmuess I should get this while it's cheap too. Maybe I can find some fan editions of JGTH and Jason X wirh disc art and covers to complete the set.

in an unprecedented move, it's even cheaper on amazon.ca! $27.10 CAD! This is an easy buy for me, even though i already own the first four blus, and the rest dvd. not to mention the Crystal Lake to Manhattan set I still have. It would be nice (although not a chance in hell) if they decided to consolidate all the extra material so that I could get rid of that set too.

Yeah, I think we've ALL given up on extra footage. Just give us all of the features in one place and be done with it. Fat chance.

Jesus. I own most of these individual blu-rays already, and I don't even like these movies that much, but, for that price, how can you say "no?"
