this looks awesome as hell but only in the uk I believe anyway here is the facebook page and very cool extended trailer for it https://www.facebook.com/frightnightdoc/
I bought a pristine copy of Fright Night on VHS for .25 yesterday. It's also the original MCA release where the case opens on the side. Why? I have the bluray. Nostalgia? Probably. I just felt compelled to buy it. It was my favorite VHS tape 2o years ago.
Fright Night is not the first film that comes to mind when I think: 80's kitsch. Against all odds (so take a look at me now), given that it's sandwiched right between Columbia's The Karate Kid 1 and 2. The sequel (which is an excellent follow-up) seemed much more designed for that purpose. As for the doc, if it comes to something like Netflix- I'll watch. But it's not a buy for me, even if ever makes it to DVD.
I'm looking forward to seeing this, but I don't see myself purchasing this just yet. Of course, give me a bottle of wine and Internet access...and we'll see.
I received the documentary in the mail today, unexpectedly, so it is indeed shipping now. No shipping notice or email. It looks like a great set, but I haven't had time to dig into the disc content yet....
Interesting, probably trying to get some sales before its featured (albeit shorter) on the UK fright night blu ray release
I haven't really noticed them trying to sell more recently. They've been selling it as a pre-order on their website since this past summer.... but it was only just released on 12/2, so all of the pre-orders just shipped out this month.
I'm only just now getting around to watching the supplements on the Eureka release. I tried looking around, but couldn't find any info on what exactly the differences are between the full length version of the doc and the condensed version on the Eureka blu ray. Does anyone here have any idea? I believe it's about an hour shorter (2.5 vs 3.5 hours long). I'm curious if it is a case of many small cuts, or whole sections that were removed?
The original Dead Mouse Productions Blu Ray of You're so cool Brewster! gives a runtime of 350 minutes on the back of the case.
wow, so it's almost six hours long? Damn. I must have gotten 350 minutes confused with 3.5 hours. So the full length version is essentially twice as long? Now I'm really curious to know what the differences are.
I love this movie but there’s no way I’d sit through a documentary that long. It’s patently absurd to have one double the length of the movie itself. They need to learn how to edit themselves better. Not every little tidbit is important, relevant or interesting.
