fulcis seven notes in black aka the psychic is a chilling paranormal thriller. when fans discuss his films they focus on his gorefests but this film is very much underrated. jennifer oneill gives an excellent performance and it becomes a cinematic rollercoaster ride of psychic phenomena. any fans of this film in the forum?

this is one of Fulci's least appreciated films of the 70's. i always loved it's simplicity and of course a fantastic music score (which tarantino borrowed a bit for Kill Bill)

I have a grey market DVD which presents the film anamorphic widescreen and looks fantastic (i believe it originally comes from a Japanese DVD)
I'm sure someone will get around to putting this one out properly soon.

Still haven't bought it though. My guess is some other company who has the rights to some of Fulci's lesser known stuff will release this some time in the future.Severin maybe?
    I'll mail them about it.

Also I'm not really convinced it's legit. And because of that I won't pay 15 Euro for it.

I thought Seven Notes in Black was interesting but one of his lesser films. At least it is better than Manhattan Baby and the like, but I much prefer Don't Torture a Duckling and A Lizard in a Woman's Skin when we are talking Fulci gialli.

I too have that bootleg anamorphic dvd, not perfect, but it will do for now. As for the film, I think it's simply excellent, and I especially love the very end. Those 7 notes in black are chilling! Defenately an underrated Fulci film.

I have the French DVD (which unfortunately hasn't English track or subs) and it's very decent quality. the same company has also released a special edition that would be definitive if it had English subs. Severin Films seems to be 'on', can't wait on their Emanuelle-box!

Now I can finally upgrade my Seven Notes in Black bootleg! :) Not my favorite Fulci film, but still very good as far as I'm concerned. Glad to see Severin is issuing this. I've bought three of their releases so far and have nothing but praise for the company. The Eroticist will definitely be worth a rental at least.

Thanks for sharing the news, Billy.

Heh, here's a nice story. My dad (yes, my dad) met Buzanca in Rome and had a chat with him. Buzanca was a major star in the 70s in Italy, his speciallity was, well, sex comedies, but he was a very well educated actor and now he works for theater. He had great things to say about various people, among them Fulci and... Peter Sellers!

Very excited. Can't wait for this release! The Psychic was actually the first Fulci movie that I ever saw...and as far as I know...the only one to ever run on CBS prime time!

Yeah,I read that but wouldn't it be great they went the extra mile to include it after all?Like they did with One on Top..
    It would explain the delay.

Guess I need to mail them again ;)
