That's a no-brainer Kat if you are region-free always go with the 88-films version, At least I have so far.

Surprised this hasn't made it into Full Moon's frequent newsletter:
    http://www.theshockchamber.com/2016/08/released-for-first-time-on-blu-ray-full.html

Dreadful cover. They also used that on FullMoonStreaming for the movie and I can't imagine anyone not already aware clicking that awful image and instead getting this great film. The photos they've included look good though. Great color balance and some nice finely rendered grain. Whether we'll actually get that out of the transfer remains to be seen.

    From Cinema Arcana's Facebook page!!!:

"David DeCoteau's CREEPOZOIDS (1987) is coming to Blu from Full Moon Features & Charles Band! In the post-nuke wasteland of 1998, five survivors enter an abandoned underground research center to escape an acid rainstorm. Unfortunately for them, the facility still houses some of its genetic experiments – and they ain’t too happy about the building’s new guests. A fun ‘80s time-waster with cool monsters, copious slime, and Linnea Quigley in a shower – what more do you need?

According to the director, a new 2K scan from the original camera negative has been completed, with additional color correction and restoration. He’s also recorded a new commentary track, and there will be a photo gallery with never-before-seen behind-the-scenes photos. More details and a purchase link when available!"

Does anyone have the 88films release of The Lurking Fear? I decided to get it instead of the US version since the UK release has lossless audio. When I went to watch it the sound is indeed lossless but in mono and not stereo surround like the dvd was. I sent an email to 88 films but have yet to get a response.

Don't have either, but according to Blu-ray.com the 88 Films Blu-ray only has an English LPCM 2.0 (48kHz, 24-bit) audio track, whereas the US release has English DD 5.1, English DD 2.0 audio tracks. So the 88 Films release is Stereo (Mono would be 1.0), but not surround (5.1).

Mono can be either 1.0 or 2.0 (dual mono), so it being 2.0 doesn't mean that it's automatically Stereo.

I have the 88 Films release, and it sounded fine to me. If it was dual mono, I didn't really notice.

I can't remember if this holds up well or is any good at all but I do remember a particular scene at the end that I'm looking forward to seeing in HD :D

Also I think Killjoy's Pscho Circus is out today but it might be Digital only atm.

Just go region free and get the cheaper 88 Films Blu-ray of Slimeball. It's vastly superior to the US Blu-ray anyway, with more than double the bit-rate and lossless audio.

Are there any reviews of the US version? I only see 88 and like you said the high bitrate.

I don't know about reviews, but the BDInfo technical data for the US disc has been posted over on the Blu-ray.com forum. Even the 2 hour HD documentary has a much lower bitrate on it... Full Moon just shoved everything on a single-layer Blu-ray.
