Yet another reason to go for the superior UK Blu-rays then. Full Moon are still stuck in 2006 it sounds like.

Has anybody's Subspecies Blu-ray konked out yet? I'm almost waiting for it to just like the original Puppet Master Blu-ray did.

I popped it in just to check, and it still loads. VSO Inspector & DVDInfoPro both identify the disc as a BD-R though, so FM's Subspecies Blu-ray is just a friggin' burnt Blu-ray disc with a pro label stuck on it. The rotted Puppet Master Blu-ray was a BD-R also.

I'll be glad when the UK Blu-ray comes out, so I can get rid of this cheap POS. :bs:

I purchased Fullmoon's PM II and III blu-rays from DVDEmpire since they were only $8 each. The quality of these discs seem better than the previous one for PM. Both movies look great and PM II no longer has that strobbing/wavey effect that was on the old DVD. I just hope they don't rot. :nervous:

Next time I think I am going to grab Castle Freak from 88 Films since I've heard such good things about them.

When is Castle Freak coming out? I desperately want to retire my old fullscreen DVD.

Yep, that's for 88 Film's UK Blu-ray release. I think elDomenechHDG's question may have possibly been about a US release date though, which is unknown thus far.

Even 88 Film's recent DVD (16x9 widescreen) of Castle Freak looks fantastic, so if you can play PAL content it easily destroys the old R1 DVD. I imagine their Blu-ray will look outstanding as well.

I think it's possible a US release will be coming soon (just probably after the UK one).

I would say very soon as the Full Moon PM II and III blu-rays feature a Castle Freak HD trailer.

It's surprising that hardly anyone seems to care about the fact that both Blus of the first Puppetmaster (88 + Full Moon) only offer the R-rated cut which misses about 1.5 minutes of blood and nudity.

Are these scenes even included in the extras of the 88 or Full Moon Blus?

No, they're not on either release. 88 Films probably would have released it uncut, but unfortunately they have to make do with the elements FM hands them.

Full Moon hardly ever uses the unrated cuts very often. The Beach Babes From Beyond DVD is the heavily cut/censored TV version for instance.

Actually I'm asking about the UK release. I've lost faith in American distributors. Unless it's Shout Factory or Synapse, most of them can't be bothered to put out a quality product. I don't see Castle Freak getting a quality Blu release in the U.S., certainly not from Full Moon.

Subspecies II and III on Blu-ray soon! From Facebook!!!:

"Post your questions for Denise Duff and Anders Hove now!!!
From Denice Duff of Subspecies: “Today at 1:00 I will be reunited after 15yrs with Radu to record commentary for the Subspecies Vampire series. I have a strange life...”
That’s right! PLUS Anders Hove will be in the recording studio to create the audio commentary for Subspecies 2 AND 3, which will be released in the coming months. AND we'll be doing a brand new video interview with Anders Hove. Send in your questions now!!! Post them as a comment here. We'll choose a handful to ask RADU. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for all of us. Anders almost NEVER makes a stateside appearance. "

Sweet news about the Subspecies sequels coming out.

Saw Killjoy goes to Hell a few weeks back. It's very different from what they've done with the character in the past. I enjoyed it.

That's great news! The second Subspecies is my favorite of the series. Now, just give us Trancers and Demonic Toys blu-rays...

No. All the Full moon BDs I have are actual pressed discs, not -R media.
