It's that time of the year again: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/evil-bong-777-marijuana-horror/ His last few campaigns have pulled in over 100%, especially the last Puppet Master one. But Evil Bong 666 just got over that hump at $10 a DVD. This time it's $25 for a DVD. So we'll have to see how this one goes.
I guess I'm the only one 'cause even FilmAf.com was missing Evil Bong 666's releases in their database before I just entered it and it's been out for over six months now! But then I've been waiting until this coming Valentine's Day Sale to buy 6 myself, so it hasn't really been on my radar either. I still need to watch Evil Bong 4:20 and up. And I usually wait until April 20th to watch them. I think I can manage 4 and 5 this 4/20 because it's a Friday. And if I'm still in the mood 6 on Saturday. Kinda doubt it.
Love that it's a Valentine's gift to yourself. What better way to show yourself that you care than with EeBee!
There're already at 67% with just under a week left. Year after year they clear their hurdle so these campaigns have proven very productive for Chucky. Sounds like this past Monday they had a special where if you bought the $250 perk you got the Empire Pictures Blu-ray Collection too, which itself has an MSRP of $250. So that was a pretty good deal, glad I didn't hear about it otherwise I might have been tempted.
Just read my email, guess they're doing it again this weekend too: I've never been tempted to go for the set visit perk, but having it in Vegas could be fun. There's a lot to do in Vegas so it's an easier trip to justify.
There's a 50/50 chance that set visit perk also comes with the silent perk of you getting stuck with the catering bill.
Watched this last night. So these Evil Bongs have plots that go absolutely nowhere so it's no surprise that 777 goes to the most exciting city in the world and manages to do literally nothing with its setting. You see that slot machine "777" logo? Well take a good look at it because it's the only slot machine you'll see... In Las Vegas... It also barely has anything to do with weed or drug culture. And Gingerdead Man is in the opening flashback but that's it. I really wish they'd do more with this character. They do take the time to show a giant puppet of Elvis, called "Pelvis", having intercourse with pornstar Jillian Janson which is easily one of the most bizarre sequences ever made. It could be worth the buck rental to see that. With that said... As dumb and pointless as it was it was somehow more entertaining than the last few entries. I think part of that is Robin Sydney's character is less annoying (666 had her incessantly responding to nearly every event in full retard mode) and they spend time apart in more than two locations which gives the illusion of a moving plot. In fact the bong shop, the perpetual limbo the series had been banished to, is barely featured. Instead they break off into little vignettes at a haunted hotel that mixes things up a bit at least. So if you've stuck with the series it's a fun diversion from the rut the series has been in. If you've given up or want to start somewhere... This isn't the place. This is just more of the same. A cool extra on the Blu-ray however is SFX artist Tom Devlin walking us through his Monster Museum in Nevada. They also include an extended version of the above mentioned "Pelvis" sequence which doesn't seem to have any of the CGI rotoscope and a few extra shots in it. It's fun to see how they did it and the extra business. Nothing really "hardcore" but the regular version is just toned down from this.
