I just watched Waxwork 2 for the first time in years and rolled on the floor laughing at Bruce Campbell. I had forgotten just how funny he makes this otherwise dull movie. This has to be his funniest role...it beats out Army of Darkness, IMO. What's the funniest role Bruce has played??

I would put this in the poll section with some selections but there is just too many of them.

I guess since I'm the only person who didn't think BUBBA HO-TEP was the greatest thing since square waffles, I'm gonna have to go with CONGO. Sorry, I really couldn't stop laughing.

On a serious note, EVIL DEAD II.

Bubba Ho-Tep. Evil Dead 2 was decent, but nothing can match seeing Bruce Campbell as Elvis. Let's face it, the man is a genius. :)

Never, but never fuck with the King!

Bruce was excellent in BUBBA HO-TEP, he was certainly the best part of the movie. He was great in the film not because every line was side splitting, but because he created such an interesting and believable character. His performance was easily one of the best in the pantheon of recent horror films. I felt like I knew his character inside and out, and it is so rare for a horror film to create such a deep and interesting character.

On that note though, I do not think his BUBBA HO-TEP performance comes even close to being his funniest. His work in the DEAD trilogy of course is benchmark, but I'll go out on a limb and praise his comedic performance in THE MAJESTIC. Bruce has always been one to play around with his image, and in lampooning the B-movie shtick he is known for in THE MAJESTIC he is at his best.

I'm going to move this to polls, just since Off Topic is cluttered enough as it is. Despite the forum title, threads in Horror Polls don't always have to contain a formal poll. :D

I think his funniest role was in Sundown: The Vampire in Retreat where he plays a descendent of Van Helsing. When he wakes up to find that he's been bitten by a vampire, it's just too much!!

I really dislike Bruce Cambell, I think he comes off as a jerk. However, with that being said, I loved him in Bubba Ho-Tep so that's my favorite/funniest Campbell role.

He was great in Bubba Ho-Tep. He pulled off Elvis perfectly. With that said, I agree with Lyle. He seems to be an arrogant asshole with an ego as big as his chin. It's amazing what a starring role in a cult classic (Evil Dead) and all films following will do to someone's ego.

The movie-in-the-movie sequence in that film with Jim Carey and Martin Landau whose title I cannot remember. It was directed by Frank Darabont I think.
