DVDAnswers just posted the new unrated artwork here. I think it is kind of, ok, really crappy, looking. That and the fact that I came to admit that the movie wasn't perfect probably won't stop me from getting it however.

I liked the original unrated DVD artwork more than this updated one. Too bad Universal probably won't include both front covers as a double sided sleeve.

I like the old cover better, but at least the new one doesn't have that ugly UNRATED banner across the middle.

EDIT: Actually, the more I look at it, the more I think the new one might be growing on me. The colors are easier on the eyes and besides, I never really cared for the poster art anyhow.

Yeah, I like the new cover much better as I didn't like the greenish tint to the poster art and that unrated banner through the center really messed it up. I'll be grabbing the unrated version on release day without even having to think about it.

I would likely like the new cover a lot better were it not for the prominent use of the hand. I think that just looks stupid as the hand doesn't blend in with the rest of the picture. The hand looks modern and Saw-ish, the rest looks like a classic horror movie. Put them together, and you have me not liking your art.

What's the deal with the hand anyway? When I wasn't looking, did a hand lead the zombies to the promised land or something, because that is just what that picture looks like.

The may put the new cover as the slipcase and the old cover as the inside cover.

I like it, at least there are not being punks, and they are having the balls to put a servead hand on the dvd. Pretty cool for a mainstream company.

I believe that artwork is the same as the European Theatrical One Sheet.

That's what I thought. The zombies are all looking up at the hand as if its something special...hmm, could that be Ash's EDII hand???! :eek1:

I like this new cover. The theatrical artwork was cool, but this image is really sweet. Wonder what kind of slipcover we can expect over it? Maybe the original artwork? Glad to see Universal is giving us just what we want for this DVD.

I have to say that the art is pretty damn awesome actually. The movie didn't blow me away, but I'll pick it up when it comes out. I think it might be worth another watching anyway.

With exception of the giant ugly yellow "uncut" banner running smack dab in the middle across it, I liked the old cover, but this one is cool too. And the fact that the ugly yellow banner is missing is a plus.
