This looks pretty interesting
Wow, very unsettling premise and seems genuinely creepy.
I must see this.
I'm so jaded as a horror fan at this point that it's rare for me to say "Wow, that looks fucking terrifying!" when I see a trailer. This is one of those rare exceptions. This looks fantastic.
This has been available on DVD in Germany for some time (Blu-ray coming in October). Reception for Goodnight Mommy on German message boards I frequent have been kind of lukewarm so far.
I'm still gonna check it out eventually.
The way it was shot, and the unsettling feeling I got from watching the trailer, kept me thinking a bit of Kubrick and 70:s Euro Horror
I saw this at the Seattle International Film Festival and it was definitely my favorite genre film of the fest, and that includes a movie I directed! It's very creepy with great performances. The crowd was a mix of horror fans and more traditional festival goers. When things started getting intense, a few of those viewers not accustomed to horror rushed out of the theater. I'm excited that people are going to get a chance to check this out soon.
This movie's trailer is being dubbed as the scariest movie trailer of all time. I guess it's the campaign they have going for the film.
It looks cool and has a creepy vibe, but scariest trailer ever is a stretch. Big time.
Definitely. Didn't make me jump or feel freaked out at all. It does look interesting though.
I deleted my dupe thread--thanks, CPT.
Here was my post:
Release: Sept. 2015
Pretty effective trailer!
Looks like this just got entered into the 2016 Oscars for consideration in the "Best Foreign Language" category!
Goodnight Mommy Being Considered for Academy Award Nomination
This does look very creepy. The trailer has a scary "isolated" feel to it. Can't wait to check this out.
This started out really good but I didn't like where it went at all. It's not very scary either. It's solid but not the film I was expecting or hoping for sadly. Not a big fan of torture porn either.
I think it looks very slow, but does look somewhat interesting.
So has anyone else seen this besides Zombie Dude? It looks like it has gotten pretty favorable reviews overall. I would like to see it once its available for streaming or rental.
I think this is a hype train movie. I'm curious to hear what other people think though.
I caught it last month at a film fest and enjoyed it quite a bit, although it's no masterpiece. It's a little slower paced, but when the third act finally hits the tension is wound pretty tight. Beautifully shot too.
It's playing locally here at one of those "upscale" theaters where they serve food and alcohol. Tix are $14. Considering it.
Finally saw this and thought it was fantastic, if not some what over hyped. The only big complaint I have is the awkward shift in tone during the final act, when the film pretty much abandons its tense, brooding atmosphere and degenerates to being just another "torture porn" horror movie. Not that I'm trying to say you can't mix dread soaked tension and psychological scares with visceral violence, there are a number of horror films that have done this beautifully (Kill List, Martyrs, The Lost, ect) it's just not done right here. As for everything else, I can't complain, the acting, story, and direction all come together for a truly refreshing film in a sea of remakes, shaky cams, and zombies. Highly recommended.
