So they issue a press release announcing a new street date AFTER the original street date comes and goes? That's a first. This is why I would rather not have anyone announce street dates. The only ones who keep them are the major studios (most of the time). I have an order pending at Diabolik that won't ship until copies of The Swimmer come in. That's 2 weeks

To be fair, they announced the delay to retailers weeks ago and most have had updated listings for a while.

And really, in the grand scheme of things, if it takes two extra weeks to get right, so be it. I have plenty of other stuff to watch, and I'm just happy to see any new releases coming from Grindhouse!

Deep Discount has The Big Gundown for 19.99 although there are not many copies left.

I'll definitely grab Cannibal Ferox and probably Cannibal Holocaust, but unless the Beyond disc somehow beats what Arrow put out which, after the whole tint fiasco (that they rectified to my satisfaction, at least) was pretty awesome.

Yeah I'm perfectly happy with my Arrow disc. I got the limited edition steelbook and it looks gorgeous. I won't be upgrading.

I really want their release of The Big Gundown, though. I have The Swimmer and the work they did on that was incredible.

This looks believable enough, but where is this information coming from?

I spoke with Bob Murawski very briefly at Flashback Weekend and asked him about The Beyond, Gone with the Pope and Massacre Mafia Style. He said that the Duke Mittchell films would be together and probably before the end of the year and before The Beyond. Take it for what it's worth.

Just pre-ordered and can't wait to finally have this as it is second only to Gone with the Pope as my most anticipated Grindhouse Releasing release ever! Glad to finally see one of these titles get a street date.

Holy crap, that's the same guy? One of the worst movies ever made, although his imitation of Lewis was good (especially considering his young age). Not sure I would lead with that that. Yet it's somehow intriguing... :D

Finally! I cannot fucking wait to get my hands on this. If only February didn't seem so far away! Any news on the status of Gone with the Pope?

"You're in, or you're in the way!" After over a decade of promotion, Grindhouse Releasing are finally giving Duke Mitchell's MASSACRE MAFIA STYLE (1975) the respect it deserves. An auteur project if ever there was one, Mitchell himself steps into the role of Mimi Miceli, the son of an exiled Mafioso who returns to the States to build his own crime empire from the streets up. From then on, it's a swanky '70s hostile takeover whose highlights include a Hollywood Hills pimp crucifixion, boat-bound porn shoots, ransom attempts (with finger chopping), meathook impalement (with eye popping), passionate monologues about the smell of an old lady's hands, a hooker with a heart of gold, bathroom urinal electrocution, and, yes, even a few blood-spattered massacres.

Writer / director / actor / producer / composer Duke Mitchell set out to create a tribute to his heritage, and delivered an earnest, impassioned, straight-faced and naively lunatic slice of cinema. All the post-GODFATHER cliches about Italian-American gangster life are present and accounted for, ramped up to the extreme but never devolving into parody. You get the feeling Duke had no idea he was making an exploitation movie -- and the world's a better place because of it.

Not only remastering the film in HD (striking a new transfer for the first time since the mid-'80s), Grindhouse Releasing have fittingly assembled a package that's not just about MASSACRE MAFIA STYLE itself, but also about the one-man powerhouse responsible for its being. Supplements include interviews with Mitchell's family and friends, long-unseen home movies, audio recordings of the crooner in action, television specials, promotional galleries and more, in what's surely to be the definitive release at long last. (Now, who do we need to whack for a Blu of GONE WITH THE POPE?)

Blu-Ray / DVD Combo Preorder (2/10/15) : Now live at Amazon. Direct links available at my sites.

    Amazing Theatrical Trailer!
