I received I Drink Your Blood from Amazon earlier, and it came packaged with the limited Hypo needle on the outside of the package.

$22.99 pre-ordered from there...glad I didn't fall for it and pay $10+ more or something elsewhere. Didn't they say "Trust us this time?" it'll only be available from a couple of select stores. :p

It wouldn't surprise me if the Hypo comes from most retailers.

I received mine also and I've got to say the hypodermic needle is a weird add on for the blu-ray. I was expecting something small that would fit inside the case but this is more like a Halloween prop.

I Drink Your Blood really looks amazing. Impressive package all around. The 'Horror Hypo' is a nice touch.

I got the Horror Hypo from DeepDiscount as well, so it's not just a Diabolik thing. They even shipped it by itself in a box due to the irregular packaging.

I'll bet everywhere has the hypo. Grindhouse urging "Trust us this time!" to order it in advance at higher prices was again just pre-sales hogwash, like the Pieces limited edition turned out to be.

I guess at least this time you can actually SEE the limited item is included before opening though.

It'll be interesting to see if the cheap Amazon price gives you the hypo. Might be the excuse of no one's complaining there since they sold it under $20.

Grindhouse Releasing's next release, "Scum of the Earth", will be their swan song - I wonder if they're planning anything special for their final masterpiece. Right now all I'm picturing in my mind is Bob Murawski exhaustingly putting the release together and muttering under his breath "can't wait until this is over!", lol. It's been a great run and I wish him all the best - and thanks for all the wonderful releases!

Just assumption, but Bob Murawski is basically running it on his own after Sage passed away and his full time job is he's a Hollywood film editor (with such credits as Army of Darkness, Spider-Man, The Hurt Locker, and most recently Kong: Skull Island) so he's already putting in more than 40 hours a week and Grindhouse was a side/passion project. I'm assuming he just doesn't have the time/has done what he wanted to do with the company.

Bob talks a bit about the future of Grindhouse starting at 2:19:20. I don't think he's said much since then regarding whether or not the company would continue. The lack of new acquisitions in the last few years, and the shedding of a number of titles from their website--Death Game, The Photographer, Pigs to name a few--points to the end being nigh.

You are not wrong. 2015 was almost all Grindhouse: not only did Murawski shoot and edit three extras for Gone With the Pope, he shot one for The Beyond, too. All of this while editing the Poltergeist remake, and an episode of Ash vs. The Evil Dead.

Add to that all of the other decisions surrounding their releases--contents, artwork, packaging and a host of other things--it's not hard to see that Bob might want to give himself some room to breathe. Oh, and then there are the theatrical showing across the country! Lost of work to do, even with a staff.

They do have another guy who handles all their theatrical bookings, this I know having dealt with him.

Yeah. I tried to cover "all the other people who work hard to make Grindhouse possible" by mentioning "staff". But, wouldn't it be neat to get on the phone to try and get one of their prints for a showing and hear "Grindhouse. Bob speaking."
