I love how Grindhouse doesn't pepper their restorations of vintage films with teal tints. I've been waiting for The Tough Ones for some time. Can't wait to see this!

If they really did find those in a dumpster, then what a miracle. I'd love to see it. A very rare film that I haven't been able to track down yet.

Sad to imagine how many films were dumped just like this, but will never be found.

Wow ! You also wonder how many gems were lost this way, too.

I smell a bit of bullshit.
Those cans should have more weight to them, if there was reels in them, and they sound like they are empty, when he stacks them ;)

    Fun video though.

They're also discounting their last stock of "Vic" a short film directed by Sage Stallone staring Clu Gulager: https://www.diabolikdvd.com/product/vic-dvd-grindhouse-releasing-ntsc-all-region/

Fun movies. I didn't realize they were OOP and could be worth some money. But I see a pair up on eBay now for $50 with no bites so I can't imagine there's much demand for these after all.

It's awesome that they found and finished Gone with the Pope. While I'm pairing down a lot of what I own these two film are certainly keepers and I don't expect them to be readily available on physical media.

My copy of the Duke Mitchell Collection shipped on the 10th, and it's already made the trip from FL to CA. I will have it in my hands when I get home from work.

DiabolikDVD currently has Duke Mitchell Collection in stock if anyone missed out on Grindhouse Video's sale.

FYI getting the cases out of the slip is nigh impossible, the fit is so tight. I ever-so-slightly bent the bottom flap of the spine, right across the release number, when I gave the slip a shake to try and dislodge the cases.

So what's the REAL reason Grindhouse decided to repackage these 2 films and sell a limited number of sets now? Were people clamoring for a reissue or is Grindhouse simply jumping on the Limited Edition bandwagon? As a collector I admit to being tempted to double dip even though I already own both films but I don't want to go down that road. Plus, since they're only making 750 copies, I'd rather let someone who doesn't own these yet have a crack at it. To me it feels like Grindhouse is just out to make a quick buck while they ponder their next move. If they release Scum of the Earth they can do whatever they like but let's get that out first.

The Duke Mitchell films apparently didn't sell particularly well the first time around and went OOP, but the standalone releases have been selling for $40+/each on secondary markets for a while now. I suspect that this might be dead-stock that was returned by retailers as unsold, so they created a slipcase and put them back into the market as a boxset.
