Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017, James Gunn)
This follow up to the surprise hit has had its share of complaints which I found mostly unfounded as I generally liked this one better than the first. Sure the story is a little thin but other than a couple of slow spells including an extended post climax epilogue it is a blast as well as most likely being the funniest film of the year. The film gets buy on the chemistry between the team, bright colors and some rocking tunes from the late 70's and early 80's. All the characters get a moment to shine and other than needing maybe 25 mins trimmed out of it there is not much to complain about here.
    7/10

There was a change of plans, so we didn't go on Friday, but got tickets booked for tomorrow night instead.

I think the first was slightly better, but I'll only know on repeat viewings of Vol 2...

The opening of Vol 2 was genius though

We just got back from the theater, and we loved it!

It's been a VERY long time, since I saw a movie that made me laugh out loud, in the theater :D
The first movie was funny, but this one was hilarious, especially Baby Groot and Drax delivered the goods.

As someone who basically grew up in the arcades during the 80:s, I loved the hilarious arcade game laser sound effects that was used during one of the action scenes :D
The was also another joke that we old-school gamers found funny as hell.

The visuals and effects was jaw dropping, even surpassing the first movie.
And damn this movie is colorful :)

It was great seeing Kurt Russell back on the big screen again, and they did one hell of a great job, with his first appearance in the film.
You'll know what I mean when you see it.

There was also a couple of funny and unexpected cameos in there.

Even at 136 minutes, the movie flew by so fast, that I kinda wanted another 20 minutes or so.

We watched the first movie today, just before we went to the theater, so after seeing them both back to back, I think I liked Vol 2 even more.
Can't wait for the next one!

As usual, stay in your seats during the end-credits, there was like 4-5 extra scenes in there :)

    I'll give it 8,5 out of 10!

We had a lot of fun with it. I was a little surprised at the inclusion of Ego the Living Planet as I thought it was a more obscure character to use (although maybe he's less obscure now than he was in my '80s Marvel reading heyday). I didn't even remember him until halfway through the movie. He is certainly one of the lesser known members of the Elders of the Universe compared to The Collector from the last film or The Grandmaster in the upcoming Thor Ragnarok. Also loved the appearance of the Watchers although the Stan Lee cameo is the stupidest, most hamfisted one to date.

The first was better, but this was still good fun (and this coming from someone who isn't a Marvel fan).

I had a blast watching this at the cinema (got to see it early too as it came out a week before the US here in Australia). I was laughing the whole way through and even had some unexpected tears at the end. It was a really enjoyable film despite one of the main plot points being a cliche.

I really enjoyed it, MUCH more so than the original. Is it because I saw this one on the Big Screen and in 3D? Perhaps I should give the original another shot, but I really liked this one.
