A list of Feature Films tagged "Horror" not rated higher than 4.9/10 (IMDb) released in 1986. These are the 20 most "popular" titles based on voting counts in this category.

Lots of quality cheese in 1986. I voted for Breeders.
Never heard of The Abomination before though. Appears to be a forgotten 1980s movie that got its first release in 2013?

Star Crystal is AWESOME. and not the good kind of awesome, but the kind that wouldn't make such a bad double feature with the likes of Troll 2. Totally inept.

Neon Maniacs, this would make a great triple feature with Rawhead Rex and Spookies. Man I miss eighties cinema !

Really tough to choose just one again... but Mountaintop Motel Massacre has always been a favorite of mine. I used to rent that on VHS tons of times back in the 80's. It's terrible, but there's something about it that I just love.

Voted for Killer Party, since it's still a 5/10 movie at heart. Flawed but fascinating.

Monster in the Closet is a very clever movie. It is much too good to be on this list.

Abomination was originally released on tape by Donna Michelle (Splatter Farm, Woodchipper Massacre, etc...) Then had an extremely limited release by Massacre Video in 2013.

Awesome Awesome movie if you can ever get a chance to watch it.

The cheese molded over this year...I've seen a handful on this list and don't really want to vote for any. Killer Party I guess gets the pass for the left-field ending.

You know what really turned me into a Killer Party apologist? The fact that so many people survived the ending. Partygoers were killed throughout the night and we cut to random side-characters while the movie's flirting with "will they or won't they" be the next to die and several of them don't die. They just hang out, then leave. You never know what's going to happen.

I can't tell you how important it is to keep a formula fresh after x-many movies which are so similar.

Entrails of a Virgin is a filthy, filthy movie. It gets my vote.

We did something wrong, and our punishment is that we can no longer have films with titles like "Mountaintop Motel Massacre."

There are still a ton of Massacre titles. Cheerleader Massacre, Babysitter Massacre.

    I know there are more.

I went with Spookies. There's some decent makeup effects in there, despite the farting mud-men. I really wish the original Twisted Souls edit was accessible. I'm sure it wouldn't have made the film a classic, but I'm sure it took itself more seriously.
