A list of Feature Films tagged "Horror" not rated higher than 4.9/10 (IMDb) released in 1988. These are the 20 most "popular" titles based on voting counts in this category.

Slugs, because the concept is disgusting and ridiculous. Strangely enough these two attributes work in the film's favor making it a so bad it's good favorite !

Poltergeist III - but I don't enjoy it in a kitschy Neon Maniacs kind of way. Every time I watch it, I think to myself "it's actually much better than I remember it" - until the point when it falls apart completely. It's definitely the one where Zelda Rubinstein registers least effectively with her role, especially during her awkward final monologue.

Zombi 3 gets my vote although there are some great trash classics on this list.

Same here. I just love the whole skyscraper setting, and the oddity of such a troubled production.

There's a lot of great choices for this year again though.

Dude, you're killing me here. I want to vote for Poltergeist III so bad, my hands are shaking. But, I think the production values and wacky effects make it just good enough to rise it to a 6/10. I mean, the franchise always was too safe and too sappy before this movie came along and gave it a malicious, and long overdue, makeover. It's bombastic, cheesy, instantly dated, but hella fun. Not a shred of guilt to be felt, unless you think the original was flawless...

I also want to vote for Rabid Grannies... but the uncut version of it is too effective. It literally upset me. Angered me. Which, of course, I have to respect enough to toss it a 7/10. (When horror movies were interesting enough to make me angry and pull that off.) It's underrated. They don't get more underrated than this- Troma underrates it too.

Witchery deserves a vote, Slugs deserves a vote, Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers deserves a vote...

But, in the end, I went with Michelle Bauer molesting an inexplicably prudish partyhound, the undeniably delictable, jock-bodied Andras Jones "transformed" into a nerd (those glasses ain't foolin' anybody!), and Linnea Quigley fighting a demon-possessed leatherette dominatrix. The clear winner of the year: Sorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowl-O-Rama. It was the kind of contest that wasn't a contest at all.

Iced is definitely my guilty pleasure from this year, but it didn't make this poll :hum:

Ghoulies II. After the boring abomination that is the first film, they finally just let Buechler loose to let his little latex creations run wild in a circus. While it doesn't approach the masterwork that is Ghoulies Go To College, it's still a whole bunch of fun. Buechler's Cellar Dweller, also on this list, has its moments, but it's limited by its singular, sparse location.

When your movie has Kane Hodder sledding down a staircase in a janitor's mop bucket in the first 2 minutes you know that I can't possibly lying.

Child's play. Saved by the Bell had wackier stuff on it than that.

I didn't realize Zach Morris plungered a topless Playboy starlet to death. Gotta track that episode down.

Oh, no- Saved by the Bell can't compare with that in the wacky department. But in the inspired ideas category... I'd say they blew G3 away almost every week.

Probably "The Kiss" which isn't on here but should be, lol. It was rated too high... out of these, Poltergiest III.

It's because it didn't have enough voting counts and missed the top 20.
