A list of Feature Films tagged "Horror" not rated higher than 4.9/10 (IMDb) released in 1990. These are the 20 most "popular" titles based on voting counts in this category.

If you put the words "Slumber Party" and "Massacre" in your title, you're probably doing something right.

Geez, how could I possibly vote against Troll 2? :joshua: :troll:

...but Demon Wind, The Gate II, Sorority House Massacre II, Hard to Die — all great cheese!

I rather enjoyed Watchers II - mostly because I'd read the Koontz book as a teen and loved it. And the first movie based on the book wasn't up to scratch.

Gate 2. I remember seeing it on the First Choice Movie Network in Canada when it aired around 1991 and, being only 9, it scared the shit out of me.

Copping out big-time: I went with Spontaneous Combustion. I could literally talk for AN HOUR about that restaurant scene. All by itself. The movie is bad but it's utterly fascinating.

I'm really uncomfortable with Def by Temptation being on this list. I don't expect people to have taste but that is an excellent fucking movie. The effects cheap out a bit but it's visually stunning, sexually daring as all hell, politically sharp, has atmosphere for days. I have no freaking idea what it's about, but while the religious aspects may seem dogged, I feel like the director/writer actually did care about portraying people as people rather than one-dimensional sinners.

I didn't care about Troll 2 as a kid. (I love to brag that I actually saw this in the early 90's on Cinemax- how many of you can say the same?) So, I get to admire this film without anyone telling me I'm blinded by nostalgia. I grew into appreciating it, like with Evil Clutch (which I notice didn't make the 1988 list). I think its badness kind of does make it objectively good. There's just nothing else like it (Silent Night, Deadly Night Part 2 is pretty close.)

Sorority House Massacre II & Hard to Die are definitely nostalgic though. But, looking at them objectively- they're still beautifully paced. Chuck Cirino's scores make the movies pretty spooky. The dialogue is energetic and snappy. And the climaxes seriously go for broke. Especially part 2. They're cleverly written, imaginatively executed little T&A slashers. I can't understand why more people don't like them. What could you possibly expect that they don't give you?

Troll 2/ Best Worst Movie is a fantastic double-header and should be viewed at least once by every human being who has working eyeballs.

I haven't gotten around to BWM yet but I still think this obsession with branding the film unwatchable without the documentary to chase it needs to be squashed. Now.

After deciding it would be fun to watch nearly every out-right horror spoof made before Scary Movie... well, it wasn't fun. But I can safely say Repossessed is the single worst film of the entire bunch.

That bunch including: Shriek! If You Know What I Did Last Friday the 13th, Saturday the 14th, Full Moon High, Student Bodies, Bloodsucking Pharaohs in Pittsburgh, Transylvania Twist, and Beverly Hills Vamp.

One of those films stars Eddie Deezen... and it's still better than Repossessed. No- star power couldn't save it. Not Ned Beatty. Not Linda Blair. Not even Leslie Nielsen.

Graveyard Shift. Hell I watch it every October!!

I remember liking Watchers II a lot more than the original. Also really like Slumber Party and Sorority House Massacre, and The Gate II
