I think the trailer looks incredible......
It looks good to me.
Yes, if you count the tow truck driver. He was overlooked by the character who specifically mentions the lower tally, so I quoted that figure.
Five people (one in 1963, four in 1978) / one dog
A mechanic / tow truck driver
Lester the dog
To be fair, being the lone survivor in a mass murder of your closest friends is probably the kind of thing that you wouldn’t just “get over”.
Halloween 4 and H20 references much?
you think it's likely that the Laurie Strode of the original film would become a paramilitary freak armed to the gills and actively waiting for Myers to return 40 years later? That goes a little beyond inability to "get over" something. That said, let me clarify and say the ludicrousness of her characterization doesn't bother me because it's unrealistic. It bothers me because it forces the film to become another of these horror-action hybrids that seem to be all the rage these days. This looks like it's going to be the kind of flick where Michael gets shot more times than Jason in the beginning of "...Goes to Hell." I sincerely hope I'm wrong.
And 3. Silver Shamrock masks.
Where TF is my Halloween 5 reference?
I’m no longer going to use spoiler tags on just a stupid trailer. If you haven’t bothered to watch it yet then you have no business reading this far.
40 years is a long time to change. It isn’t unrealistic at all. I know quite a few people that are different than they were in high school, and they haven’t had anything as nearly as traumatic happen to them, either. If a teenage hedonist can turn around and become “born again”, then a bookish nerd can become a gun kook. Besides, we never really learn a thing about Laurie in the first film anyways other than she is shy. All we know is that her father is in real estate. Nothing about the family’s politics.
I thought it looked good, nicely shot and an aesthetic that mirrors the original.
it's a slasher how original this far down the line can they be? And you have to have some build up before the shit hits the fan.
I for one was not expecting much and this looks better than I expected.
We're going to have to agree to disagree on this one.
Don’t know how you can disagree that people can’t change over the years, but whatever, man. Keep rockin’ that Varsity jacket!
Dude. For real? I'm not talking about someone becoming more outgoing, or learning how to swim. You obviously believe that the 1978 version of Laurie Strode could turn into Marion Cobretti. Fair enough. I don't, and I find it ridiculous--but I'm not going to follow you down into the muck and resort to name-calling.
I thought so too. Way better than I was expecting.
That's exactly what I was thinking. It's not like she didn't go through a lot. I also agree with you on how people can completely change over the years. It's not far fetched at all.
Count me in the camp of excited for this one. You can only go up from Busta Rhymes and Rob Zombie's garbage.
Can't freakin wait this is easily my most anticipated horror film of 2018!
Yes, but look at survivalists who stockpile weapons and supplies when nothing traumatic has ever happened in their lives.
I never called you anything. Don’t exaggerate.
We see one single day into Laurie’s life in Halloween. That’s it. We hardly know a thing about her. And even if we did, a traumatic event can change someone’s views dramatically. That isn’t even an opinion that you can realistically argue against. That is a hard fact.
Isn’t the lead in Death Wish a gun hating pacifist before his Wife and daughter’s murder? But that is a believable change, right? Why? Because he’s a man?
I'll say that the trailer does look good. But, I also have to admit that it's hard to say how much of that is due to the legacy of the first one.
It also seems like it's more a reboot of H20. Now that may be a good decision as the Laurie half of that was excellent for me and seemed to be one of Curtis' more cathartic performances.
I’m wondering if the reason why Laurie seems a little crazy is because her character has evolved to take the role that Dr. Loomis filled. We need somebody to rant and rave about the “Evil”.
