I feel dumb for asking but will the Canadian bluray work in US machines? I prefer the theatrical cuts even though they both are crappy. I would still like to have them though.

So if SF says this set is limited does that mean there's a good chance Halloween 6 PC and H20 will be available separately afterwards?

They only waited a year to stick it to purchasers of "Bruce Lee: The Legacy Collection". "The Bruce Lee Premiere Collection" is coming out in November with the MSRP set at %50 of Legacy. So its very possible you won't have to wait long for a cheaper alternative for Halloween 6 PC and H20. Myself, I'm not taking any chances.

Lionsgate has the rights and is releasing their own 3 pack of 6-8 in the fall. Beyond this box set, I don't think Scream Factory is able to release the films.

That's how I understand it too; because Shout are licensing these from Lionsgate they only have rights to do the set not individual releases.

I'll be truly annoyed if they release the same discs, highly unlikely but..

It looks like Lionsgate is only re-releasing the Echo Bridge multi-packs (as they are w/ the Hellraiser and Children of the Corn movies). If they don't have any plans beyond re-stocking the bargain bins at Wal-Mart and K-Mart, it's entirely possible that Shout!'s license covers not only the box set, but eventual stand-alone SEs of Halloween 6 - 8. That way, Lionsgate services the casual buyer, and Shout! caters to the fan market. That makes a lot of sense.

If I'm not mistaken, there's nothing on the Scream Factory release of Halloween: Resurrection that wasn't included in Echo Bridge's bargain bin release.

What happened with Lionsgate? They started out pretty good releasing Dead Alive, Monster Squad and Evil Dead 2, retaining all the special features of their DVD counterparts (Dead Alive never had features) and now they've turned into another Echo Bridge just churning out filler to keep the bargain bins stocked.

    1. Dead Alive had a the US trailer on the DVD (which was ported on the Blu-ray)

    2. We don't know yet if the Lionsgate releases will be the same or differ from the Echo Bridge (we're hopin' for the best).

The most recent update to the special features list did add some things to Resurrection that were not on the previous Blu-rays. 40 minutes of head cam footage with commentary by the director as well as optional commentary on the deleted scenes were added. These were features from the original DVD, but for whatever reason Echo Bridge never carried them over.

For one thing Lionsgate is not in the the best financial situation. They have a lot of debt, and their profits can barely keep up. They've really bitten off more than they can chew, and if it wasn't for a few franchises like Hunger Games they'd be in deep trouble. They're ripe for a buyout or takeover.

I highly doubt most of their Echo Bridge releases are going to be any big improvement over Echo Bridge. They'll most likely just re-use their masters.

I'm sorry if this has been talked about in this thread and I'm assuming everyone knows about as much as I do, but does anyone know anything about the featurette on the bonus disc called "The Making Of HALLOWEEN 4: FINAL CUT"?

Was there supposed to be a new cut of the film?

EDIT: Think I just answered my own question.
