Mine still hasn't been cancelled. Order is still active, status is pre-order but it's apparently scheduled to ship tomorrow. Let's see what happens.
Same here with my order...
I also got $ .90 cents cash back in my ebates account already from the order click-through.
Regardless of what happens at TCM though, my Amazon order of the set should arrive tomorrow.
Several people on bluray.com have had the set ship from TCM. I'm thinking by this point of I haven't had my order cancelled I may have a good chance.
Probably so Matt. Since we both ordered early when it was showing as "In stock" they'll likely honor those.
I can't believe some idiots ordered 15-20 copies though. I mean geez.. :eek1:
yeah a lot of people have had their multiple copies shipped already.
Who wants to sell me their extra box set at a discounted price? Assuming they actually get it, and it's the correct set
Haven't had a cancellation email yet but my order went from Pre-Order to backordered. Not looking too positive!
Yeah I just saw that too. What's annoying is they didn't ship the set in order. People who placed their orders after mine had theirs ship. However, if your order hasn't been cancelled by this point I think that's still a good sign.
The bad thing is that TCM apparently cancels orders after 30 days if they don't get them back in stock before then.
The item page has now disappeared, so who knows if they'll even bother to restock before everybody gets the automatic cancellation. It's a good way to get out of the mess beyond what they had originally stocked.
It is screwed up that they didn't process them in the order received. I'm sure some jackasses that ordered 20 copies much later got their orders shipped.
I'm not sure what this means, but mine started at backordered, then went to pre-ordered, and this morning is back to backordered. Feels like hope is still very much alive. By the theory posted yesterday, they have to honor backorders, not pres!:banana::banana::nervous:
Really? I've been following that thread religiously for 2 days looking for any sign TCM has actually shipped some sets even with the pricing error but haven't seen anyone post they got a shipping confirmation. I want to put an end to this saga so that I can resume my normal life - I could use those pending funds for tomorrow's Blob preorder. Fucking TCM isn't even apologizing for this mess - business as usual for them I guess. At least they got some free publicity
Businesses don't really "have" to honor anything. It makes good business sense to try to keep their customers happy, but there's no law that I know of that goes against them correcting a price. For instance, if something costs them $80 and it was misquoted at $8 and then hundreds of people try to preorder it, then I don't see how they could have any other recourse than to not honor the price.
I've ordered about 40 Blu-rays on Amazon before in the past that were price errors at $1 and $2 each, yet they did honor and ship them all.
Who knows with this TCM thing though. I checked again, and now my order shows as "Backordered Estimated Ship Date: 2014-09-23". Earlier it was just "Backordered" and keeps going back and forth in status.
They did email me a 10% coupon off a future order earlier this morning, saying I had "viewed some great items". No cancellation yet though!
TCM just charged my credit card, so they better be shipping me a set!
Yup. Mine now says backordered, est ship date 9/23/2014. This is really weird. If they do ship it I'll be so excited.
