The producer's cut of 6 is a better film but I found the theatrical cut to be far more entertaining.

I'd say this is fair. The producer's cut has a vastly superior score, more Pleasence, much better pacing, and even more of the fall atmosphere that everyone loves. But it misses some of the gaudier, cheesy elements that make the theatrical version a fun, silly ride: the exploding head, the amped-up sissy metal guitar score, the effective slow-mo effects in Beth's final scene, shameless overacting by Paul Rudd in the climax, and best of all, the hilariously over-the-top operating room massacre scene. I lean to the producer's cut. But I enjoy both edits. I suspect non-diehards would prefer the theatrical version.

I can't really watch the theatrical cut anymore. Every scene or moment I like is gone or shortened. But I do agree that casual viewers would probably prefer the theatrical cut.

The synch issue is a non-factor in this. It's just good business. This is an extremely pricey boxset that has limited appeal in months not named October. Retailers are savvy enough to know that most people who want the limited set already have it. And the ones who haven't jumped yet are waiting for a better price. The price for this set will continue to drop, maybe not continuously like over the past week. But it will certainly be lower than it is now before Thanksgiving.

I still think it will be possible to get this set for $80 or less prior to Halloween. Come November 1, the demand for horror items will drop faster than Dom Deluise falling from the observation deck of the Empire State Building. Does anyone foresee this set as being a must-have Christmas present?

its not extremely pricey at all and has been selling great guns, regularly in the top page of amazon best sellers. I actually found it very cheap for all the content... and thats not taking into account that after i got my sync issue refund I got it for 70

So this set has been dropping consistently for the last week...it's now $89.96.

If this keeps up, by Halloween it'll be less than the Nightbreed Limited Edition! :joshua:

The price of the set keeps dropping but they'll still take more than a week to ship it unless you have Prime, plus the week or so it'll take for delivery. They trucked something all the way across the country to me last week after I waited 10 days for them to actually ship it. Amazon's service has really taken a major nosedive in recent times. It's all a ploy to get you to buy the premium service, which isn't everything it's cracked up to be.

I wasn't talking about value. I'm talking about gross price. Over $100 for a horror-themed boxset that contains a lot of movies the general public doesn't care about IS extremely pricey. The initial sales can be attributed to diehards and the month of October. If this set makes the Amazon best seller list during Thanksgiving week I'll get a giant Thorn tattoo on my face. Ha.

    $84 now.

Keep 'em coming people. The Scorpion BD sale left me broke. I do not want to pay more than $100AUD for this set, so let's hope Amazon keeps dropping the price so that Amazon.ca does too. (They haven't caught up, yet.)

I don't care about any of the sequels in the slightest, but, man, I REALLY want the disc of the first movie with the original mono. I wonder if it'll eventually be given its own release.

Some people have been selling them separately on ebay. They seem to sell for $10-$20.
