That's the weirdest part, you don't even live in the States  Still nothing here for me in Australia.
I'm just speechless at how poorly they're handling this. But then again this is the "new" Anchor Bay...who screw up every other release somehow. Who runs this company now, the inmates?
So I get an email when it is sent? And there is still a problem with audio? glad I kept the older relase
I plan on purchasing the collection soon but I checked the single release from 2012 and didn't notice any sync issues. So if I get the set and ask for a replacment will I just receive the disc I already have or rather, one that is just reauthored without the panel discussion?
No email. Audio is fixed, though some claim there are minor synch issues (perhaps just sloppy ADR inherent in the source) that are present on the older disc as well. That's right, the replacement disc is identical to the 2012 disc, minus the panel. The artwork is from 2012, it does not match the style of the box set. So you guys (and anyone else who has the older disc) would be better off just swapping that one into your set and not worrying about how long it takes to get the replacement. You should still definitely get one, but just to have it to "complete" the set.
My replacement turned up today and I live in England. I did send the email pretty early but everyone should get one soon.
The disc art and menus for Halloweens 4 and 5 have fire in the background. WTF? I think it was supposed to be the knife stabs that carve the pumpkin in the opening of Halloween 5 but it came out as fire instead.
for the record, I checked the kitchen scene on the new disc and it played fine, no sync issues like the old 2012 purportedly had
It magically showed up at my doorstep earlier this afternoon. It's just the disc stuck in an envelope. But geez... they fucked up the disc artwork?!??? Brilliant! Instead of looking like the other discs in the box set, now it looks just like the old single Blu-ray. Way to go Anchor Bay!
I still don't understand how they managed to stuff that up. Anchor Bay is one of the most inept companies I know of these days. From being one of the top guys in the game to now releasing films sans menus, fucking up with discs and putting out terrible products like SNDN it's like a complete turn around in the wrong direction.
They're just LAZY. There is just no other excuse. I mean seriously, how much trouble would it have been for somebody somewhere to look at the old disc label and make sure it matched the replacement disc?? They look completely different! It's not like you could glance briefly at both of them and not notice. Anchor Bay were once great... but they are now near the bottom of the heap as far as quality releases go. They should just change their name to spare themselves from humiliating their former reputation even more.
I remember the kitchen scene had a dub to one of Rachel's lines when she pours the coffee on Kelly Meeker. She originally said "have some tea" but they dubbed it and changed it to coffee. Is this the audio sync issue you all are talking about? Because it goes back to the VHS and is a line dub instead of a problem.
After seeing how they are mailing the replacement, it looks like it could get damaged/scatched in the mail. Thanks, but no thanks, Anchor Bay.
