Does anybody know where I can get a copy of the television version of Halloween II? I've looked on eBay and can't seem to find anything. All I can find are the scenes randomly placed together as two videos on YouTube. Anybody know where I can get a copy?

Yeah I know they exist, since AMC played the tv version of Halloween II back in 2002 I think. I've seen DVDs of it on eBay before, but nothing in a while.

AMC plays it every Halloween (they even played the TV edit of 6 last year as well).

Here, this gut has a load of cool dvd's. The quality of the feature is rated under the title. Hope this helps:)

I didn't know there was a TV version of Halloween 2! The first time I saw Halloween 1 was on network TV at age 13, so I knew about that one and have that SE DVD with both cuts.

There is no legit dvd of this. If there was I would've heard of it by now, so be weary of ebay as you're sure to get a boot from there. Maybe wait for AMC to play it again this year and make your own (and remind all of us to do the same).

Usually I see AMC play parts 1, 4, 5, and "6" on Halloween but no others.

they did last year. Chiller Network is playing Halloween 2 this week as well. Not sure if it's the "tv edit" or a censored R version.

i have the DVD that is linked up above. the quality is good enough to enjoy. some scenes are played back to back so its not 100% continuity, but it's fine. all of the TV scenes are dialog, no extra gore or killing.
i love the TV scenes and i wished so much that they would have been included on a special edition DVD. If you are a Halloween 2 fanatic, you need to see these extra scenes one way or another.

Just to clear up there is NO official DVD of the tv cut. the only r1 H2 dvds that exist are the Goodtimes version from 1998 and the 2001 release of Halloween II. Both are the theatrical cut.

Really? Did you record it onto a DVD? (Or is there any way you can transfer it onto a DVD?) Was it aired in Widescreen?

That's a lot of different content!! It is amazing how many versions of each film there are in this series! Halloween has the original and TV cut, Halloween 2, the same. With Halloween 6, of course there's the producer's cut and with the latest offering, there's the theatrical and director's cut. I know it is different studios involved, but this series screams for a massive box set. Of course, I have all the single discs and the 25th anniversary DVD, as most of us do, so really I don't know how many people would pay for such a monstrocity! I wish they would just make a new DVD with that part 6 director's cut and now that I know about it, a Halloween 2 TV cut. They should have made the new one a 3 disc set with both cuts and extras! They probably will later to try to steal more money from fans!

MonsterVision with Joe Bob Briggs played the TV version a few years back, complete with Joe Bob's usual comments between commercial breaks (highlight of the show).

Last I saw it was posted over on Demonoid... but we all know what's happened there, I'm sure.

There's more versions (not counting fan created) than you realize. Let's see:

Halloween (3) - Theatrical, TV edit, Anchor Bay's Extended (TV scenes incorporated with theatrical print).

    Halloween 2 (2) - Theatrical and TV.

Halloween 3 (2) - Theatrical and spanish version that includes some alternate scenes.

Halloween 4 (1) - theatrical only as far as I know.

Halloween 5 (2) - theatrical and uncut versions. A post was made on OMHD about the uncut version. Do a search over there and read about it.

Halloween 6 (5) - theatrical, uncut version of theatrical, producer's cut, early workprint of PC (some stuff not completed, etc..), and TV. Fucking insane!

Halloween 7 (3) - theatrical, workprint and TV.

Halloween 8 (4) - 2 workprints (one features just different music and a new title with manhole ending, while other features a lot of different scenes like Tyra Banks' death scene, etc..), theatrical and DVD release, which is different than theatrical cut.

Halloween RZ (3) - theatrical, workprint and DC. I'm sure a TV edit will appear in a few years.

    25 versions of 9 films!
