Well, that kinda fucks that whole idea right up don't it!?!:D

Had they killed Busta also, it would be the best movie ever made, period!
Like how the House of Wax redo goes from ehh to awesome for wacking Paris Hilton, with huge extra points for it happening on screen (bummer Tyra isn't).

for me it isnt an ethnic thing. its the busta was a 2d stereotype made to dish out"cool hip" one liners for all the hip hop kids to cheer too. ll cool j was in H20 and I liked his character because they wrote him as a real person. Busta was just playing Busta because thats what the studio thought the 14 kids wanted.

Exactly. I enjoyed LL in H20, although his character was fairly pointless. He played it straightforward and was actually likeable at least. Busta was just a terrible choice for a role which was already terrible to begin with.

As far as a fresh angle with Resurrection, what's fresh about having Michael kill a bunch of dumbasses on a reality show? That idea became stale as soon as it was baked.

It wasn't for me either, hope it didn't come off that way. It was meant to come off as killing 2 of the most annoying people on the planet, and a 3rd was done in House of Wax.:D
Busta can't act, period. I like a tune or 2 of his, but hate him on screen in everything I've ever seen him in. Almost decent in Higher Learning, but only by basically playing himself and still going over the top. His voice ain't bad, so his parts on Boondocks are as close to acting as I can stand.

LL on the other hand can act, in fact I love him in Deep Blue Sea despite all that movie's flaws. Was even better in Any Given Sunday.

How many other movies had the reality show angle by 2002? It's old hat now, but wasn't so much then.

"Busta. What it is right now."

He was acceptable in NARC, I thought.

Not so much the reality show angle as the "people filming their own demise" angle. They obviously were trying to cash in on both the reality show craze as well as the success of The Blair Witch Project, which was still having ripoff after ripoff made of it. And in this day and age, where reality TV is so horrifyingly annoying, having a Halloween film centered around that seems even more pointless.

It also seems completely possible. In fact, with reality TV where it is now, I'm kinda surprised there hasn't been any shows set in any real crime location. Would make a great spin-off for Survivor to have to survive for real in a Saw or Texas Chainsaw setting with a killer on the loose. Maybe the failure of the movie kept those from being made.:D

There was one show kinda like that though, where someone was a pretend killer and if they got someone alone they could give/show them the death card or some shit. Can't recall the name of the show, but recall the killer was selected random by finding the death card or bloody something, although some didn't want to look for it. Someone here knows what I'm talking about and please share the name as it's driving me and the girlfirend nuts.

EDIT: Found it! There a wiki page with all the outcomes and other spoilers, or a quick way to get through it.:)

Well the movie sucks and someone else in Busta's role probably could have done better- he was annoying

Apparently the producers thought he was annoying too because the home versions have some slight audio edits of Busta. I remember one particular scene in the theatrical version when Busta was fighting Myers and Busta made some extremely goofy obnoxious sounds. The home video versions edited out those sounds and just replayed his a previous non-so-silly noise. Which reminds me, the true theatrical version has never been released on home video. There were some other alterations throughout the movie as well, including placement of the intro credits.

Not the first time. Don't forget about Hellraiser: Hellworld and Roadracers.

The defect with the disc is that it has Halloween Resurrection on it.
