There's nothing but static on Hammer over here in the US this year so thes are looking mighty tantalizing.

Seems surprising that we can get regular releases of Jesus Franco and a few rounds of Paul Naschy but a bigger name brand like Hammer is stymied.

There appears to be a German Blu-ray 7 film set from StudioCanal coming out on 10/19: https://www.amazon.de/Hammer-Film-Edition-Blu-ray/dp/B0753FLFKG

    German contents:

    - Frankensteins Schrecken
    - Dracula - Nächte des Entsetzens
    - Doktor Jekyll & Schwester Hyde
    - Das Grab der blutigen Mumie
    - Demons of the Mind
    - Ehe der Morgen graut
    - Furcht in der Nacht

    Bonusmaterial:
    Blutige Rituale: Einblicke in "Dracula - Nächte des Entsetzens"; End of term: Einblicke in "Furcht in der Nacht"; Der Fluch des Pharaos:Einblicke in "Das Grab der blutigen Mumie"; Blut fordert Blut: Einblicke in "Dämonen der Seele"; JIGSAW Kinotrailer;

I would assume the discs should be similar to the UK Blu-rays StudioCanal have/are releasing, but who knows yet.

Looks like this German set is missing one film from the batch of titles StudioCanal is releasing in the UK this fall. That film would be To the Devil...a Daughter. A great deal regardless.

My pre-order for the German set is in--about $60 delivered from Amazon Germany. I could care less about To The Devil...A Daughter, so this is a SWEEEET deal for me.

The discs in this German set should have an English language track with removable subtitles, right? I can't find that information anywhere on this release.

Yes, since it's StudioCanal it almost definitely will. I recently got the 4-film Agatha Christie German set (StudioCanal) which had basically the same disc content and extras as the higher priced single disc UK Blu-ray releases...and it had separate English and German audio options, and optional German or English subs. The bonus features on that set also had "removable" German subtitles.

Thanks, that sounds promising. Just wanted to be cautious since I have occasionally read about some foreign releases not having an English audio track or only offering English subtitles. I wouldn't want to watch Hammer films in any language other than English.

Are you getting this box set release too?

DVD Beaver reviews The Horror of Frankenstein: http://www.dvdbeaver.com/film6/blu-ray_reviews_80/the_horror_of_frankenstein_blu-ray.htm

"The Horror of Frankenstein is not premium Hammer. I was attentive although it meandered a bit. It absolutely held the studio's charm - decent atmosphere and no shortage of Hammer-esque cleavage - plus the humor. The Studio Canal Blu-ray provides an excellent a/v presentation - love the sweet grain - with another educational featurette supplement. Hammer fans will see the value in the German boxset - a shade over 7 Euros a film. Recommended!"
