In have the Nanny DVD, excellent stuff (and the Blue Lamp is a fun film too). Sadly, neither are widescreen. Still, I don't expect this anywhere else soon, and it's cheap.

Just sasw the two-fers tonight at Best Buy, $15 or $16 a piece.

As for where to start, there have already been great suggestions so far in the thread, and if you were to listen to me, you'd start with - all of them. :)

But, I would definitely recommend the following...
    The Devil Rides Out
    Horror of Dracula
    Dracula, Prince of Darkness
    Curse of Frankenstein
    Frankenstein Created Woman
Lust for a Vampire (You must have it - although not as good as Vampire Lovers, it is one third of the Karnstein Trilogy, and is a must. Now if only we could get Twins of Evil (yes Watts, I know it's available in some other region  ))
    The Abominable Snowman

    and...

    you must get...

    and I'm not kidding here...

    you think I'm playing?

    you must get...

yes, you must get Rasputin, The Maaaaaaad Monk or I'll take your women and throw acid in your face... and then I'll ban you. ;) So do yourself a big favor, and put Rasputin on your list. Pronto! :D

    PIcked up

    Horror Of Frankenstein
    The Mummy
    The Curse of Frankenstein
    Horror of Dracula
    The Hound Of the Bakersvilles
    The Revenge of Frankenstein

all for about $85 Canadian. Not too bad. I'll let you know what I think of them as I watch them.

And Mutleyhyde, how did you see the double features already, when the release date is the 13th?

Well, I was looking at this shelf at Best Buy, see? ;)

Sorry for the smarmy, but I couldn't resist. I can only guess someone either jumped the gun, or the steet date was stepped up. And Best Buy will often break street date because, well, because a lot of monkeys work there. :)

And you still didn't commit to Rasputin. Commit to Rasputin, or I'll have to rag on you about it forever. :p

EDIT; DVDPricesearch says street is 1/13, but DVDPlanet and DVDEmpire list it as 12/9, and Digital Eyes is shipping them now. I know the date on these was pushed back at least once. Maybe BB got 'em and was looking at the old street date when they chose to put 'em out. That's my guess anyway.

And I already bought Rasputin coz you kept hitting me over the head to buy it ;)

I forgot to recommend The Hound Of the Baskersvilles earlier, my bad, that is a tremendous freaking film.

Don't worry mutleyhyde, I'll pick up Rasputin as soon as I come across it.

I watched "Horror Of Frankenstein" last night - GREAT film. I absolutely love the sarcasm of Victor Frankenstein. Superbly played.

 And that the two-fer comes with The Devil Rides Out, it's a real winner of a deal. [IMG]

    Agreed!

Watched "Horror Of Dracula" last night. I enjoyed it quite a bit, but for some reason I like "Horror of Frankenstein" better. Am I alone in this, or do you agree?

Horror of Frankenstein is one of the worst movies I have ever seen. :)

lol. I guess I may just be alone then.. I really liked the dark sarcasm of Victor in HoF. HoD was a good film, don't get me wrong - I just enjoyed HoF more.

I'm actually not a big fan of Horror of Dracula either, as you can see from my list of "Hammer favorites". I think it is overrated, although Lee and Cushing are good in it.

Oops... thought you were talkin' about Curse of Frankenstein, Damed... yeah, Horror of Frankenstein leaves a bit to be desired. I don't have the disdain for it that Lyle has, but I just wanted to clear it up that when I agreed before, I really didn't. :p

As for Horror of Dracula though, I disagree with Lyle bigtime, as I think it's a perfect movie. :D

Just watched Captain Kronos (picked it and FATMFH up last night)

I liked it, had me really guessing as to the identity of the head vampire. A good flick, indeed.
