    THE FUNHOUSE?
That movie is not the same since David Bowie got his hands on the score.

Serious note: they just released the REAL soundtrack to THE FUNHOUSE (John Beal's score) on CD. Just a FYI!

Okay - I'm checking it out. That is one terrific score...especially when Amy is lost in the Funhouse at the end. Great sequence! Thanks for the info!
In the meantime, I'm keeping my eyes open for ANY kind of Happy BDay DVD review.

Wait a sec...can you explain this thingy with David Bowie? What's up?

Haha, he's kidding. The excellent The Funhouse is one of my most watched films, and there's no David Bowie present. No way.

Are you sure Cujo? I just rented it and was watching it on a portable tv on the real estate I just bought from evileye and I could have sworn that was Bowie.

    The rumors are true.

    The changes are substantial.

My review at DVDDrive-In.com is forthcoming. But in short, I don't recommend the disc at all.

Man, what shame. This entire HALLOWEEN season has been kind of a let down (the stripped down FRIDAY box and such). This is just the icing. At least they didn't have TERROR TRAIN rescored by Yoko Ono.

  10. How could Yoko Ono redo the score for Terror Train? She did the original :) Wait maybe that was just a train whistle..

Ugh. It is so fucking silly that they would spend the money to create new music for a movie that they have let collect dust for twenty three years...maybe we can count on a new version of the theme song performed by Nelly.

  12. From the sounds of it, it's not new music. Maybe some temporary music from an earlier cut of the film that got put on the DVD instead of the original....

Right. The music isn't new. It's a genuine track from the 1970's. Sounds early 70's too, if I were guessing. It existed for 'something' back in the day. Why it has shown up in the DVD of Happy Birthday to Me, remains to be uncovered.

As soon as I finish it. :)

Just waiting to hear from Columbia, as to a reason for the music changes and then it should be complete.

The guy who reviewed The Funhouse on DVDdrive-in was the stoopidest reviewer ever. I mean, come on, The Funhouse NOT a slasher?! This guy needs to lay off the coke.

Plus it states that the old DVD release was from Image which is incorrect, it was a Goodtimes release.

    Die.

Yeah, that's a genuine mess-up on my part. I never bought any of the Universal titles which were licensed to Image and Goodtimes, so I sometimes mix up which titles were owned by who. Sorry.

No problem at all, I figured it was an honest oversight.

I really enjoyed your review. I think you write very well (I read all of your reviews).
