wow, that's not a bad price at all. I'm surprised.

Wish Best Buy would price all of Columbia's $20 Godzilla movies that price when they first come out. :(

I can CONFIRM Happy BD to me DVD...

I just got my copy from dvdempire.com and I can confirm the score is indeed changed. The disco song "Out of the blue" is in the opening credits. Some of the other music is changed as well but the opening is the most I noticed. At least the ending credits song is there so thats one good thing.

  5. This was actually confirmed almost 3 weeks ago...

Actually it was not confirmed 3 weeks ago on the official release. It was only confirmed on the screener DVD and people were not sure if the final released version was gonna be like that too. However,I got the real release today (not screener) and it was the exact same after all.

  7. Check the HBTM thread, someone else got the REAL release a week ago and confirmed it in there...nothing new here.

I have HIGH HOPES for the British release. At least they did the cover right.

Screeners ARE real releases. Had the same security stickers on the sides and plastic wrapping (how else would I have known about the sticker on the front advertising the insert with the original artwork) as the ones that will be in stores.

I gave the DVD of HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME a shot, and I HATE the new music. While some of the "new" music is tolarable at best, some of it is just plain awful and ruined the movie for me. THANK GOD I still have my original LaserDisc so I can continue to enjoy HBTM, while we wait in hope of a new release. I have already written Columbia Home Video about this and I suggest all fans of this movie let your voices be heard and click on the link above. This DVD is the biggest let down I can remember.

I broke down and bought it since Best Buy had it for $15.99, and I had about 6 of those McDonalds BB bucks to use there.

I guess we're lucky that Columbia included an insert with the original theatrical artwork. The damn different music does blow chunks though.

I just ordered the German R2. I let you guys know if the English soundtrack is the original one. It's been confirmed that the German dubbed track has the original score, so there might be hope after all :)

If it does, Hellbilly - can you post a link where to purchase it? I've given up on many American releases.

Good news: got my R2 DVD today and yes, the German dubbed track has the original score.

Bad news: The English language version has the "new" score :(

    Sorry.

--At least they did the cover right.--

I'm not saying the R1 cover is any good, it's not. However, do you really think the R2 release is any better really? Isn't it just red text on a black cover? Totally uninspired I reckon. Neither of them is worth a damn... I've not gotten this one yet, but when I do, it might be the first time I'm tempted to download a custom cover.

Assuming such a thing for this film exists.
