yea, fortunately the glitch isn't TERRIBLE and as you said, it's only a split second. UNFORTUNATELY, i noticed a couple glitches on my last house on the left blu ray, both of which were more distracting than hatchet II's.

There's also a split second glitch on the Best Buy exclusive Rules Of Attraction disc.

I've always been a fan of Danielle Harris. But there's no defending her performance in this flick. The less said about that accent, the better.

I thought the original was OK but unmemorable. But this one is downright anemic. After a decent opening nothing happens for a long, long time. I'd advise skipping the entire middle of the film. You won't miss much.

Just watched this and it was ok, I found the pace a little slow at times but when it picked up it did deliver creative kill scenes and much gore.
I did not think Danielle Harris was great in this and I'm usually a big fan. Tony Todd, I thought was great in his campy take on Rev. Zombie.
Don't know if anyone else picked up on this but Charlayne DeVillier who's the cute nude model featured in the camcorder footage is actually a porn star who goes by the name of Kacey18, I recognized her from the torrent sites. I guess she's made the big time now. :)
Also, the run time on the dvd is listed as 104 mins, but the feature is barely 80 mins, that's a pretty big difference in actual running time.

She's made the "big time" for some years now.
She almost only eats black meat. :p

    Is that so?
I've only seen the early stuff then I guess which was mostly solo or really lame, boring sex with the same dorky guy who had a tiny pecker.
Cute girl anyhow, with a really unconventional look for a porno actress.
Anyway, really don't think the Academy will recognize her for her work in Hatchet II any time soon.

I like her body. I didn't know she was a porn star until I saw her on screen, but just knew despite not having seen any of her work. Finding a headshot of her for my dvdprofiler left no doubt what she did. I don't think I saw any head shots without her giving head, but have a nice pic of her face and rack now.:)

You can get lots of pics on her open profile on Myspace and she's on Facebook too.
I'm not a porn star stalker by any means and I'm not on either of those so that leaves me out, but I did correspond with Tricia Deveraux a few years back after she got HIV-really nice person, caring and insightful.
I get the feeling for some reason that this one is the stereotypical dumb teen who went to Hollywood to become a star and wound up with a pecker in her arse instead. The visit to her myspace page confirmed these suspicions to an extent.

for those who want a BluRay region B version, do not buy the German BluRay by Sunfilm!

this version is apparently cut severly, but it is of course not mentioned on the cover, so i have let myself getting fooled again by buying it for a cheap price, not realizing that it was butchered like this

to show how they try to cover up their f*ck-up, the running time is 85 min (as it should be), but the last 3 minutes of this running time is just black screen

something like this is really making me mad!

i sent them an e-mail and got a response real quick, here is a condensed version with the most important remarks :

    Hi Tim,

    Thank you for your e-mail.

First of all, we totally understand your anger and we're really sorry about this. I would be furious too if I found out I have purchased a cut version of a movie. But it wasn't our choice. please let me explain.

The German ratings board didn't give HATCHET 2 a certificate. We tried 4 times, spent a fortune on lawyers and still were rejected by the board. Now, the German forbids that a distributor releases an "unrated" version. We must have a certificate from the ratings board are we are not allowed to release this movie at all. After 4 months at war with the board we were forced to cut our release 3 minutes of this movie. This doesn't happen only to us. Every single distributor who's movie is too violent for the watchful eye of the board has to cut their films.

    1. in regards to the packaging. Well, we wouldn't write "cut version" on the sleeve, would we? In that case we also could say "attention! don't buy it!". Which distributor would do that? Even in America they don't mention on the cover of Hatchet 2 that it is cut. It is the R-rated version. It is what it is. But they have the unrated version also. Something which we are sadly not allowed to release in Germany.

    2. the secret of the 3 minutes of the black screen is that this is from the two audio commentaries which are still uncut. We could have cut the commentaries also but they had to be chopped in the middle of sentences. In the end 3 minutes would have been missing from them too. But we choose to let the commentaries be untouched. And if you change the audio channels during the black screen at the end you will hear what I am talking about.

Again, I am deeply sorry about all this. But this is the crazy German law which we can't do nothing against it. It's an ongoing war for over 30 years and it gets worse every year. If you're a horror fan living in Germany you're really f****d!

But... so just that you know we always (!) have or will release uncut versions of our movies through Austria. That's the only legal way. Mostly 4-6 months after the German release date there will be an uncut version of it by an Austrian company. All the other distributors do it too. The German fans already know it. They are still pissed that they have to wait a couple of more months but at least they have the uncut version.

and it should be noted that they also made an offer to compensate for my cut disc, which i think is a very nice gesture!

Just watched this last night and I was very disapointed. They didn't recapture the feel of the first film and the way it was filmed looked cheap in my opinion. The pacing was all over the place aswell. It seems as though Adam Harris forgot to make his characters interesting like in the first one. Its a shame it wasn't very good cause I loved the original. On a plus side Danielle Harris was superb as Marybeth, smooth transition there.

i recall not liking the first one, because i was disappointed by how tongue in cheek it was. i haven't seen it since. however, i found myself enjoying this one a lot more, because i knew what type of movie to expect. now i want to watch the first one again. maybe if i see the blu for cheap, i'll pick it up for all the supplements.

in retrospect i guess those saying danielle harris' character was a little whiny are right. but while watching the film, i wasn't annoyed by her at all. i love that she's getting so much work in the horror genre.

DAMN, kane hodder has a big neck!

anybody else notice that the tv that tony todd turns off when danielle walks into his shop has the surviving character of Frozen saying "I am NEVER going skiing again!" i love touches like that. his films may not be perfect, but i like adam green's sensibilities a lot. i hope he keeps making movies.

oh yeah, and any film that uses Ministry's Just One Fix over the main credits is ok in my book.

I recently bought the Blu-ray (Best Buy had it for $9.99) and it looks like they may have corrected the disc. The original had an encoding flaw where the picture had digital pixelation about 3½ minutes into the film.

It plays smoothly on my copy of the disc, no pixelation. My disc ID is also different from the one in the DVDProfiler database...which makes me almost sure it's a corrected disc. The authored date of the disc is 1/20/2011, which was right before the release date, but probably after advance reviews of the disc went out.

If there's anybody who purchased the Blu-ray when it first came out...can you check and see what the authored date of your disc is? A free program like VSO Inspector can easily give you the disc specs.

    That was awesome.

And I didn't have the glitch issue on my Blu.

You have the later corrected disc then, which fixed the authoring flaw.
