I'm glad he isn't directing it. Hatchet II was pretty stale, so it seemed like he doesn't know what to do with the franchise. Some fresh blood will be nice.
I definitely like Hatchet 1 more than part 2. I didn't think there could be a part 3 after the ending to part 2. But I'll watch to see what they do with it.
Kinda old news(couple months ago) but here you go: Clip from the scene: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KsdXy2IELCM

Wish they could get out of the swamp, somehow.. the whole New Orleans setting put me off from the beginning... however, part three looks fun. I thought that aside from a few effects, (the table bite/shotgun head blow) the gore was really fake- looking. I couldn't believe the cartoon-y nature of the intestine strangulation. Anyway, an unrated cut of three, (at least we can count on the Hatchet flicks for over-the-top, uncut home video versions) would probably sweeten things.
Well, if they make a part 4, and Crowley DO leave the swamp, maybe he could stumble upon a Summer Camp, and chop horny teens to pieces Just don“t send him to fucking space
Send him to Florida, plenty of swamps n gators there- wouldnt be homesick. Plus this gives him a chance to ogle some bikinis and wet t-shirts.
big fan of the hatchet series, really looking forward to the third, was disappointed with the second one but on repeat viewing, it's gone up in my estimation, the first is a fucking blast!!!
Both are mindless entertainment and very derivative of films that came before, but they are well done and entertaining.
Hope this is good, the first film was awesome but II was awful, it was filmed like a TV movie and it seemed abit too serious for my liking compared to I. Not to me toon the characters in I were far more interesting. So hope III picks it back up. Does anyone know why Tamara Feldman didn't come back for the sequel?
I didn't care for the first one. The backstory is so formulaic that for all intents and purposes, it might as well have been a remake. Now, that doesn't really bother me (though I could have done without the "IT'S NOT A REMAKE, IT'S NOT A SEQUEL, AND IT'S NOT BASED ON A JAPANESE ONE!" garbage selling point). My real issue with this one is that it just tries too hard - the performances are overwrought (save for the heroine), and the movie itself is just a loud mess. Don't get me wrong, I love deformed slashers as much as the next guy, but I wouldn't mind if the buried the Hatchet franchise.
