i thought the nc-17 rating was being dropped for the "Hard R" rating.

Can we drop this "Hard R" pretense and just call it what we all know it has to be called? Come on, Hard R? This rating had to have been thought up by someone with the most obvious sense of humor in a room full of

    a) Dimwits whose heads it went right over, or

    b) People with the same sense of humor.

"So, what should we call this new rating? You know one that won't give a stigma to the films it represents? Let's see, hmm."

"We don't want it to have sexual connotations, right?"

"Right. That's where NC-17 failed, alas."

"Gee, I don't know. It's gotta be more, like, hard than just an R rating. So. How's about HARD...R?"

"'Hard R.' Hold up, let me write that down, see how that looks. Hm. Let me sound it out some: 'hhHHHHARD. R. Hard R. Hard R. Hard-R. HardR. Hardr."

"Nope, nothing sexual, good job, folks."

"Job? Did you just say 'Good JOB'?"

    "Yeah, so?"

    "What, like blowjob or handjob?"

    "What, no, I--"

"You disgust me. Deviant. Leave this room, filth."

That's how I imagine that whole thing went.
