So am I correct in thinking that anchor Bay will eventually release the DVD. This is great news if they are because they really put alot of efforts into their DVD's.

I wondered why nobody has commented on this teaser, and now I know why: it's lame. Definitely a tease as promised, but lame all the same. :sleepy:

You really think so? I mean, it's just a (surprisingly-not-very) bloody axe.

Yeah, I mean it's an axe too, right? They used a picture of an axe on a poster for a film titled Hatchet?!? :eek2:

Good point! I just thought the tag line at the top was amusing. And in the proud tradition of good old-fashioned exploitation advertising...it apparently failed to live up to its own hype. :)

Lame? Its a teaser. What would you have wanted? A trailer that shows all the best parts and scares as they usually do. In fact if that is the only trailer for the film, I would be happy. I rather be surprised. Especially if the movie turns out to be real good.

Now I'm not comparing these two films by any means, but one of my favorites was an early one for The Usual Suspects. Thats the only one I saw before I watched the movie. It show absolutely nothing execpt for a still shot of a dock at night, with some audio in the background, then just the quite of the creaking of the dock & some boat sounds.

This isn't DTV, is it? I laughed a little at that poster, the trailer on the official site was...ok (Creepy Kid Voice Alert!). Harmony from Buffy is in it? Robert Englund? Could be fun.

Don't forget "Bud" from The Cosby Show. He was at Horrorfind signing posters. The trailer they were showing looked cool.

Kane Hodder creates a horror film icon that will stand alongside Jason, Michael Myers, and Freddy. Victor Crowley is awesome. We have the makings of one of the greatest horror film characters and series. It's great. Super great. So indescribably awesome that you just cannot conceive.”

    – Harry Knowles, AIN'T IT COOL NEWS

    “A potential new slasher icon.”

    – Tony Timpone, FANGORIA

    "A masterpiece!
Victor Crowley is an icon in the making."

    – Bryn Hammond, GOREZONE MAGAZINE

Just remember you heard it hear first. ;) (about being a new franchise for Hodder, not the movie mention itself)

Is this coming to theatres? Or is it straight to DVD?

nice! it looks good! This is the first time in a while that there are some horror movies that i am excited about, and must see in theatres. Trick r Treat, Hatchet, and the Halloween remake.

i wonder how wide of a release this is getting. one person on another board said they thought adam green said 200 theaters, and another person claims it's coming to 2,000...

For those members in the New England area, you should head down to your local Newbury Comics and pick up their new ass-kicking blood spattered Toothface shirt. Inspired by the t-shirt worn by Joel Moore's character in Hatchet (he wears a black Newbury Comics shirt that gets coated in the red stuff), the shirt has the Toothface image we've come to know and love, spattered in blood, on the front with the Hatchet logo (axe) on the back. It's only $12 and it's pretty damn cool. For those of you who don't live in New England (or anywhere near a Newbury Comics), you can get yours here.

I'd imagine something more like 200. Behind The Mask seemed like a bigger profile movie and didn't make it to 2000. Hell, many feature films don't quite make 2000.

I don't know..it's listed as a "wide" release on boxofficemojo, which usually means at least a thousand. I hope I can see this in the theater! It will be a great two weekends in a row with this and Halloween being two horror movies that I have been anxiously awaiting.
