Never seen it. The reviews put me off. Bruno Mattei ripping off scenes, music and situations from the master himself.
I got that Walking Dead Fright Pack and after reading over all the discs I figured this one would suck the most. Not because of the packaging or description, but because in the interview in the booklet they talk shit on how bad the movie is! That's usually a good indication right there.
With a couple of beers, we had quite a good time watching it. Fall in the so bad it's good category for me.
Well, the guys talking trash are the editor of Fangoria magazine and "Scooter" McCrae who directed Shatter Dead. Okay Scooter, your movies rock so hard, so can talk trash all you want. Hell of the Living Dead is a fun, over-the-top roller coaster ride of a zombie movie. Yes, it rips everyone else off. Yes, there's stock footage galore. Yes, it's a fun movie. Watch it with friends and beer. Lots of beer.
Count me in as finding it an awesome slice of zombie cheese. I saw it not 5 months ago for the first time and loved every bad minute of it.
Yeah its bad but thats not what really gets me, afterall Redneck Zombies is in my top 10 but the fact that it blatantly rips off Dawn and Zombie and not in a good way.
I love Hell of the Living Dead. I have fond memories of watching this on an old VHS under the title Night of the Zombies!
This movie is awesome. I love how the people will be in a jeep surrounded by trees, and then one character will look off camera, and then you are assaulted by stock footage of some animals in a pool of water in the middle of a grassland with absolutely no trees around. Or suddenly they will look at another bunch of trees and then you see some stock footage shot nearly inside the homes of the natives! That's some powerful vision right there. I also enjoyed that one guy that antagonizes the zombies every chance he gets.
I actually saw some of the stock footage they used in HOTLD on a lamo shockumentry called Imhumanities.
