No, it shouldn't.....and I might also add that the film would be better filed into the nearest dumpster...........

This involves a killer, Mary Loo, slashing up high school kids. Sounds slasher enough to me.

Hmmmm......I don't know.....It just didn't fall into the slasher mode for me, you know? I don't remember her stalking and slashing anybody in the film enough (if at all) to constitute a slasher theme. The film reminded me more of a direct-to-video combination of CARRIE (with the revenge factor and telekinesis) and A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET (by using surreal dream sequences and deaths) (
like the victim crushed in the collapsing locker
). I consider HELLO MARY LOU:pROM NIGHT 2 more of a supernatural tale of revenge. If someone wants to file it under "slasher", that's fine........ :sleepy:

I agree with MISSIONCODEZ, the movie isn't really a slasher, and Mary Lou does not even do any real killing, it is all Vicki, and even she doesn't do that much killing.

The cover is the original Canadian art (minus Mary Lou's head at the bottom with the red eyes), Their was the other artwork with Mary Lou in the locker with the flames all around.

But the DVD cover is the orignal art.

This is worth owning just for the locker room scene.

That's why I own it (VHS & LD)! Is there any other reason?

I agree that it has some slasheresque qualities, but I probably wouldn't file it into that category myself. It's one of those films that combines elements of several subgenres, much like A Nightmare On Elm Street, which I have a hard time accepting as a slasher film, as well, because of the supernatural element.

I have to disagree.I think Mary Lou in the locker is the original art. That is what my VHS is.

I have the original theatrical artwork, and it is of Mary Loo in a burning locker. I have never seen that DVD artwork used anywhere else...

I still haven't received my copy, Chris...

There is a postal strike in Canada at the moment now though, so that may be the cause of the delay.

Did Echo Bridge get their hands on this? I see it is going to be on one of their upcoming multi-film DVD sets, along with the first Prom Night and a few of the Halloween sequels.

What?! How the hell did Echo Bridge get Prom Night II - Isn't it a Fox-controlled title? No wonder Shout keeps turning it down. Could it be a typo?
