will buy part 1-4 even if 2,3 aren'tuncut , would just be great to see them in high def with that 3-d quality some blu's have :) Would of course rather have them uncut but ....

a question thought i read or heard somewhere that people involved with 2 and 3 offered to go through the vault for free to see if the uncut stuff could be found ......is this a myth or am I just going crazy and THOUGHT that I either read or heard it somewhere?

How often do you watch them?

And based on the quantity of Anchor Bay's extras on the 2-disc Halloween set, I'm actually really disappointed this won't be a 3-disc set. If they're going to waste any of the set discussing "Jason Goes to Hell," "Jason X," and "Freddy Vs. Jason," then we'd need a 3rd disc to get the bad taste out of our mouths!

I caught a screener of the documentary (without any extras). It's framed by cheesy Savini-hosted re-enactments from Universal Studios. It starts with a 20 min recap of the series progression, then expands out the final girls and Jason actors. All this is done is a pretty fast clip (similar to the VH1 I LOVE THE 80s style of quick blurbs) but not much is really learned (especially in comparison to Peter Bracke's CRYSTAL LAKE book). There is oddly little mention of the final girls from part 3, 4 and 5 and no new footage.

It closes with a EPK-style interview set with some of the remake's cast and no footage (just the usual "I Can't Believe I'm in a Jason Film" stuff).

While it certainly is nice to have (this is the kinda stuff Toolbox should have done on the boxset), the 90 min doc could have been better organized and included more interviews (Steve Miner, Dana Kimmel etc).

Thanks, eveileye. Very disappointing review but it sounds like I may need to watch it before I decide to purchase.

No problem. Don't get me wrong... it's still a great doc and better than anything Paramount has done to date but its dissappointing to see some of the cast members pop up for only a second's worth of a blurb (don't blink or you'll miss people like John Furey and Stu Charno) but other non-related "horror website journalists" constantly give their 2 cents.

I have no idea what the extras will be and the price is pretty reasonable and I will be definitly adding the final product to my collection. I just wish they did a CRYSTAL LAKE MEMORIES doc and followed the book's structure.

I'll end up getting the doc for sure...

I'm not re-buying any of the other movies again...

Are there two diffrent versions of this because I've seen conflicting reports of whether its a 2 or 3 disc set?

I think that was a mistake or misinterpretation. Officially I've only heard of the 2-disc set.

Will Part 3 only be available in the boxet, if so, I too already have an uncut R2 copy of the Friday, and will instead try to rent 3 so I can take advantage of the 3D goodness.

This thread is about the new documentary.;) As far as I know there is no new set. The first 3 are being released separately.

No mention of deleted footage, as extra features anyway. I guess they are including some of it in the documentary? Unless Paramount decided not to let them use any footage.
