I stand corrected, thank you!
This looks AWESOME!
Rutger Hauer is amazing. This will be a must see.
That's one angry Hobo !
Saw the rated teaser before Machete. I didn't realize this was happening. It explains why Hauer attended a screening of Blade Runner in Halifax last year. Pretty cool...the unrated trailer is now up on the blog site.
I thought initially this looks boring till I saw all that nice gore at the end of the preview.Looks good.
Must see on my list - I showed a friend that trailer and he just busted up laughing and said this just jumped up on his must see list as well <:
If anything, the one-sheet for the film is suitably badass:
Other than Ginger Snaps II, I can't think of another time when it's paid off to be Canadian when going to the theater. Can't wait to support this!
That is very very cool, can't wait for this to come out in the states
Two very positive reviews from Sundance:
It's starting off nicely with the geek critics on Rotten Tomatoes. 100%. I'm there tomorrow night. I'm not reading a single thing about it before I go.
HOBO is playing as part of the Actionfest at the Carolina Cinema in N.C. next month. They have a cool lineup, lots of Asian imports (a new Jackie Chan film),the British flick IRONCLAD,a retro screening of Charlie Sheen's THE WRAITH ,the new doc. MACHETE MAIDENS UNLEASHED and a lot more. The website is up with the whole lineup.I'd love to go.

Cannot wait to check out Hobo With a Shotgun tonight and support theatrical Canuxploitation!
Same here. About four hours to go. :fire:
HOLY FUCK! Hobo with a Shotgun was absolutely batshit crazy! Offensively outrageous, ridiculously hyper-violent, and so over-the-top and dripping with sleaze and grue that you can't help but have a perverted smile across your face the entire runtime. Hobo delivers, and it shatters every exploitation expectation, and absolutely no one is safe from its carnage. Rutger Hauer chews up his scenes and is perfectly cast. Molly Dunsworth adds the right amount of warmth and humour as Abby, the hooker with the heart of gold, and every villain is (especially Drake and his two evil bastard sons) seedier than an early 80's NYC alleyway and pure evil.
Jason Eisener, John Davies, and Rob Cotterill pack the 80-something minute runtime so full of violence, sleaze, and insanity that Hobo with a Shotgun out grindhouses Planet Terror, Death Proof, and Machete combined! Sure, it's still not true grindhouse, but this is the faux-grindhouse flick that smashes its balls through the wall! Hilarious dialogue, outrages and inventive and gruesome-as-fuck gore, and a style that screams Argento meets Carpenter on a lower-budget (but that's a good thing).
And finally, Hobo also throws in a ton of awesome homages to everything from Argento's Phenomena to H.P. Lovecraft to Cannibal Holocaust to the Canadian cartoon classic The Raccoons! (which, trust me, has a bigger influence on the film than you'd think!)
Hobo with a Shotgun is a carnival of exploitation excess that firmly sticks its middle finger up to good taste and shatters every expectation the genre comes with. Fellow Canadians, see this in the theatre NOW! And for the rest of you Americans, I highly suggest you VOD this after April 1st and if you're lucky enough to catch it in the theatre in it's limited US release starting May 6th, do so! Likely it'll be released uncut, because there is absolutely no way, and Eisener leaves no room anyway, for anything to be cut out to even remotely come close to obtaining an R-rating!
May 27th at the RITZ BOURSE in PHILLY.Who's all going?
Christ I can't wait to check this flick out!
