    So who's getting what?

I've got all the Anchor Bay's and the Kubrick's already ordered. I've also got preorders out for Spiderman Trilogy, Scary Movie, Reaping, Haunted Hill, Twilight Zone and Transformers. I'll probably add some preorders for Hollow Man and Hostel.

I'd like to get some of the Fox movies (28 Weeks Later, From Hell, Scissorhands). But $28 is more than I like to spend. I'll wait and get them used.

Not a very good listing. You should go Fango's Chopping List for more of a list.

^ Ah... That's pretty inclusive, I can't think of any genre HD discs that are missing.

    I'll be picking up:
Day of the Dead (1985) (BR)
Evil Dead 2: Dead by Dawn (BR)
Return to House on Haunted Hill (BR)
    2001: A Space Odyssey (BR)
    A Clockwork Orange (BR)
    Eyes Wide Shut (BR)
Full Metal Jacket: Deluxe Edition (BR)
    The Shining (1980) (BR)
    Spider-Man: The High-Definition Trilogy

    I have Kubricks and Spider-Man on pre-order.

I'll buy these Fox titles when their prices match other studios:
Fantastic Four: The Rise of the Silver Surfer (BR)
    28 Days Later (BR)
    28 Weeks Later (BR)
    Edward Scissorhands (BR)
    The Fly (1986) (BR)
    Robocop (BR)

I'm holding off on Halloween because of the color, Dracula because of the color, Dawn because I want the boxset and Masters of Horror because I want a boxset. These things seem to come in twos. ;)

i was sooo close to just saying "fuck it, i'll buy a HD-DVD player because it's region free" and now i look at this list.

from that list i would most definitely pick up

BR - dawn of the dead 78
BR - day of the dead 85
    BR - evil dead 2
    BR - halloween
    BR - robocop
HD/BR - twilight zoen the movie
    HD/BR - the shining

Right now, Universal and Paramount (the two HD-DVD exclusive studios) don't have much announced for the rest of the year. The only genre titles I see coming from those two studios are:

    Transformers - October 16th
Star Trek: TOS (First Season) - November 20th
    Tremors - November 20th
Battlestar Galactica: Season One - December 4th
The Bourne Ultimatum - December 11th
    Cat People (1982) - December 26th
    Timecop - December 26th
    Zodiac - Jan 8th

BluRay is having a good month in October, but November and December have only a few bright spots.

    Beowulf & Grendel - November 6th
    Oldboy - November 6th
Close Encounters of the Third Kind - November 13th
    I, Robot - November 13th
Masters of Horror: Season One (Vol. 3) - November 13th
Monty Python's Life of Brian - November 20th
    Pathfinder - November 20th
I Know Who Killed Me - November 27th
20 Million Miles to Earth - December 4th
    Independence Day - December 4th
Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End - December 4th
Lost: The Complete Third Season - December 11th
Masters of Horror: Season One (Vol. 4) - December 11th

Hopefully more discs will be announced for the Holiday season. Otherwise, it looks like the studios are resting on a few tentpole titles like Harry Potter, Shrek, Bourne, Pirates & Spiderman.

Both also have the massive Blade Runner release, that's big enough. :D

I'm psyched for 20 Million Miles to Earth. I wasn't expecting any Ray Harryhausen for a couple of years. I hope it does well enough for them to continue releasing them.

Bram Stoker's Dracula (BR) [already ordered from DVDPlanet]
    28 Weeks Later (BR)
    A Clockwork Orange (HD/BR)
Full Metal Jacket: Deluxe Edition (HD/BR)
    The Shining (1980) (HD/BR)
    Spider-Man: The High-Definition Trilogy (BR)

That's my planned BR purchases for the month. I'm perfectly fine with my DVD SE's of Robocop and The Fly. Transformers is the only HD-DVD only release that annoys me a bit. I haven't seen the film, and I'm sure it's completely brainless, but it would probably be a fun watch in 1080p.
