Wow, so many great releases on the way this fall! It is starting to feel like the pre-Halloween season of the early 2000's...you remember that magic time when you could easily drop several hundred bucks on DVDs?

Severin Films releases the disc set September 27, with a hi-def 1.66:1 transfer from the original negative. Horror legends Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing star as scientists who board the Trans-Siberian Railway in 1906 China for a trip to Russia—one that gets interrupted when an excavated frozen humanoid creature defrosts and begins stalking the passengers. The special features are:

    • “Murder on the Trans-Siberian Express”: new interview with director Eugenio Martín
    • “Notes from the Blacklist”: Producer Bernard Gordon discusses the McCarthy era
The Guardian 1973 audio interview with Cushing
    • “Telly and Me”: New interview With composer John Cacavas
    • Introduction by Fango editor Chris Alexander
    • Theatrical trailer
    • Easter egg

    Nice artwork!

Definitely a Day 1 purchase for me. It's good to see they're copying the Synapse model and releasing it with both formats. I just wish they'd have done that with Bloody Birthday damnit!

I'll be getting Horror Express for sure, as I recently sold off my non-anamorphic Image DVD.

I'm really excited about this,HORROR EXPRESS is one of my favorites from the old ''late night horror show'' days. They used to play it on DR. MADBLOOD'S MOVIE a lot in the 70's and 80's.

I'm hanging on to my Image version until I find out if they reproduced those liner notes on the foldout cover.

Great cover art and a pretty nice packaging of bonus features. I always thought Horror Express was an underrated Cushing and Lee film. Shawn, do you know if The House That Dripped Blood will eventually make its way to Blu-ray?

WHen I heard last summer that Severin had HORROR EXPRESS that also announced THE HOUSE THAT DRIPPED BLOOD, and I would assume it, too, will get the DVD/Blu-Ray Combo. I also thought they were planning on putting BOTH flicks out at the same time. Guess HOUSE will be later, or they have yet to announce it for September or October. I'll have to ask them via facebook.

Not a fan of these Blu/DVD combos but I'll pick up Horror Express regardless. Great flick.

It's already up to $13.99- I guess I was too slow!

Also, the OOP Image disc is going for around $10 now, so it's already too late to unload that one for a good profit.

Back down to $12.99 again. Maybe because of the delay? : shrug :

Damn. One of my most anticipated this year. Frustrating, but hopefully it is time well spent in creating an excellent blu.

Yep. This really sucks. I was looking forward to watching this one on Halloween. Like you said, hopefully this means they're going all-out to make this a great release.

I'm hoping the delay is well worth it.
