JAWS and Dellamore Dellamorte (still liked DD, but not the best).
Poltergeist definitely. I don't give a damn who directed it, this movie is pure shit.
I'll second Poltergeist-it bores the heck out of me. I'd choose The Entity with Ron Silver and Barbara Hershey over that one anytime.
Texas Chainsaw Massacre (Original). The first half is pretty cool but the second half bores/annoys me to no end.
Army of Darkness - Huge following here even though it's rather lame and pales in comparison to the 1st two films.
The Evil Dead is so fricking overrated! I never understood what the big deal is and people still go on and on about it.
Bleh! I say! BLEHHH!!!
:fire: It Waits - This was the biggest pile of shite I have ever seen.
The budget for this pile must have been tighter than a fucking camels arse in a sand storm!!!
I second Dellamorte Dellamore. Boring, horrible plot, makes little sense, and the "humor" falls flat on its face. Never understood why this movie gets all the praise it gets.
Also, I agree on everything said about The Beyond. After about 1/2 way through I couldn't even look at the screen and did other things while the movie was playing in the background. Made no sense and all the gore just made it look silly.
Anything by Rob Zombie or Eli Roth.
Suspiria. You want a movie with a poor plot? Right here ladies and gentlemen, even if you won't admit it. Suspiria makes Zombie look like The Godfather.
I will most definitely admit that Suspiria has almost no plot to speak of - that does not make it a bad film. I think the horror genre is the only one where you can have very little substance and a great deal of style, and have a truly remarkable film. This is why Suspiria and the Evil Dead are my two favorite horror movies - you've heard the stories before, but you haven't experienced anything like them. I can respect your opinion, but Argento and Raimi are dedicated visionaries.
I could support that. The Freebird thing was awful, god awful and plain desperately sad.
Yeah. Seeing as I'm a picky artist type, I was going to post earlier and mention that I believe he meant to say primary, not pastel, but I refrained until now.
That was overrated?????
On some horror forums, even here actually, it kind of was. I heard all these good reviews about it. I then saw it and... it was crap.
No way in hell Suspiria should make this list...it looks and sounds so damn good..it doesnt need a plot. Werd!
No it doesn't make it a bad film. That's for sure. For me, the red and blue lights got old and in the end, it's just a ballet movie with a less than stellar ending. Evil Dead is my favorite horror movie, but the difference is Evil Dead is 90 minutes of asskicking and the story is interesting. Demons are more interesting than "And one, and two, and three and four! One and two, three, four!" Suspiria isn't the worst flick out there by any means, but it is the most overrated.
Of the films mentioned, I'm having a hard time deciding which I think is more overrated: The Devil's Rejects or Dellamorte Dellamore. But since I actually kinda liked Rejects and hated Dellamorte, I'm going with Michele Soavi's overrated sack of shit.
I can see why people would dislike Suspiria or The Beyond (although I'm madly in love with the former and semi-in love with the latter ... I mean, a woman's face gets melted in front of her daughter! Her little daughter! How can you not love that?!), but Poltergeist?? It should be illegal to dislike that film. It's so perfect!
