well, don't be too quick to be envious. the only reason i was able to watch so many was because i was unemployed over the summer and stayed home the whole time out of a desire to conserve funds - hence, 4-5 movies a day was pretty standard. its a bit of a trade-off. with any luck i WON'T have that much free time this year. still, 500 flicks in one year would have been a nice milestone. oh well, guess it'll always be the one that got away. And Kolpitz, you slacker, where was the push to reach 600?! a little effort would have been nice, sheesh!
F-ing 73 in 2011! :fuck: Ha ha, I think 70-ish is about tops for me at this point. I was pretty surprised by Attack the Block and Tucker & Dale but completely underwhelmed by Insidious. Resident Evil: Afterlife and The Expendables, all of which disappointed in the cheese department; Hobo with a Shotgun delivered on its title and promised cheese, though, while (in non-horror viewings) Fubar II ruled. A few effective dramas like Martha Marcy May Marlene and Contagion, kept me thinking of them at odd times, but the Archer television show was probably my best find. Great jokes, very funny action--excellent voiceovers. It was a much more memorable year in viewing films than 2010, but see ya! Onto 2012.
(not including films watched with commentary track) 2010 = 223 2011 = 349 I doubt I'll ever top 349. Even more surprising, 321 are first time viewings.
AAAAAaaaand, bump for 2012 totals. Spoke too soon a year ago in the above quote; I fit in 101 films in 2012. :glasses: A lot of it was due to October, where I saw quite a few. First-time viewing standouts include Days of Heaven (1978), The Avengers, Prometheus, Moonrise Kingdom, Chinatown (1974), Cabin in the Woods, Skyfall, and Looper. I also loved the first season of Homeland and all six seasons of The Larry Sanders Show. First-time viewing lowlights include The Unholy (1988), The Initiation (1984), Chillerama, 976-EVIL II, Piranha 3DD, Our Idiot Brother, When in Rome (2010) :joshua:, Cowboys & Aliens, and Club Paradise (1984).
According to my online database 373 in 2012, but this total included the films and the TV show season I watch on DVD (also it doesn't make a difference if there are more than one film on a DVD). So it's more than that...
2012 Total movies watched: 186 Watched the following entire film series: Paradise Lost, Hellraiser, Children of the Corn, Return of the Living Dead, Maniac Cop, Jaws, From Dusk Till Dawn, Star Wars, Jurassic Park, The Naked Gun
976-EVIL isn't that bad. At least it has this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w2YTR8NgogI. I have a soft spot for Wynorski films I guess. Although I think he hates this one himself.
Ok, I have a 4 year old so in 2012 I saw my movie views plummet to less than 40 for the whole year, maybe 12 of those were re-watches of classics. Being a single dad limits the amount of movies I can see - but so far in 2013 I have seen over a dozen, so I will have 2012 total eclipsed in no time.
2012 First Views: 189 Total Watched: 423 October really built up my numbers...as usual. I had a lot of over-time at work or I would've probably watched even more...or got a life.
I posted this in the other thread but it makes more sense here so... I watched 220 movies in 2012. Looking at my past years I seem to be pretty consistent haha. 2009 - 218 2010 - 217 2011 - 220 2012 - 220 How crazy is that!?
107 in 2012 which is about my norm. Saw a lot of good films but the highlight has to be finally sitting down and watching Iced for the first time. Iced. Best first viewing of 2012!
