I haven't got a Blu-Ray player yet, but seeing how Wal-Mart has some pretty good titles for $10 and the fact that Blu-Ray players have gotten cheaper, I will consider purchasing one real soon.

My first Blu-Ray disc purchase would be the all time horror classic we all know and love, Halloween. Then, I'd follow up with Evil Dead II: Dead By Dawn, Hellraiser and Freddy VS. Jason for my starting Blu-Ray lineup.

I treated myself to a PS3 for my birthday on July 13, 2007 and my first Blu-ray disc purchase was Casino Royale later that day. At the time HD-DVD appeared to be on the way out, the PS3 had recently received its first price cut and it was announced that the 60GB version would be the last to feature full backwards compatibility with PS2 games.

I really love the Blu-ray format and Casino Royale was terrific first disc to experience. I already had the DVD so I was able to compare the two formats and I was blown away. I embraced DVD in its early years but I don't believe I was as excited as I am about Blu-ray.

I bought my first player back in April (I think). I had been watching HD-DVD for awhile as I got the xbox add-on dirt cheap, but I eventually ran out of titles, so the next step was blu. The first disc I bought was 2010. I was always disappointed with the DVD, and since WB never bothered to release an upgrade, the blu was the only way to go.

Now my collection is just under 40 titles. I never pay over $25 for a new disc. Hell most discs I buy are $15 and under. The Wal-mart $10 section has helped a lot in amassing some great catalog titles.

I bought my 40" Sony HD-TV last Spring and picked up the PS3 a couple of months later when the new Grand Theft Auto came. I quickly picked up the Blade Runner 5-disc set as my first Blu ray purchase. I don't have too many BDs yet- maybe 10 or so.

I totally forgot about that- I have to pick up that one pronto!

I bought my Sony Vaio VGN-FW160D Mobile Blu-ray Disc Theater on July 22nd 2008. That same day I bought Into the Blue (how appropriate :)), 2001: A Space Odyssey, and Dirty Harry Complete Collection. All 3 were great buys!

I finally upgraded to blu (well actually jumped ship from the HD-DVD camp) when Dawn of the Dead, Day of the Dead, Evil Dead 2, and Halloween were announced. The first blu-ray disc I bought, though, was Total Recall.

I guess I first made the switch when the format ended as well. The first two blu-rays I bought were Blade Runner and Halloween.

I bought my first Blu Ray sometime last year, it was the original DAY OF THE DEAD and I owned it before I even intended to get a player! I always figured I'd eventually get one and when I did, I wanted to have my favorite zombie film of all time ready to go!

I bought a copy of Dawn of the Dead (1978) on Blu-ray sometime in late 2007, even though I didn't own a Blu-ray player yet. I remembered in the late 1990's when Dawn of the Dead went out of print, and copies were selling for rediculous amounts on eBay. I didn't want that to happen to me so I waited for a semi-annual Deep Discount DVD sale, and bought it for around $14. I finally got a Blu-ray player in November of 2008, and naturally, Dawn of the Dead was the first title that I popped in. On a side note, Dawn of the Dead Director's Cut (2 sided flipper disc) was the first DVD that I ever bought, and was the first DVD that I put in my first DVD player. The same can be said for Laserdisc as well. This is a routine that I plan on repeating on each upcoming format. I just love that movie!

I jumped on the HD bandwagon in December of '07 by purchasing both a PS3 and a Toshiba HD-A2. My first Blu-ray title purchased was "The Simpsons Movie" on December 18, 2007 ...at least according to DVD Profiler.

My first blu-ray purchase was The Shining. I made the jump to blu-ray when I picked up my 40gb PS3. I've never regretted choosing it over a 360 since it is such a good blu-ray player besides a gaming machine.

I don't have Blu Ray yet ... but plan on getting one eventually (here's hoping/praying/wishing the new iMac will feature a blu drive!!)

I guess one of my first movies will be The Fall, since I never got a chance to see it theatrically and don't want to see it on anything else than blu!

I just switched to Blu-Ray last month. The first title I bought was The Shining on the same night I bought my new Plasma HDTV and Blu-Ray player. I'm glad I switched. I really do think that some great titles will be released ove the next several years and I look forward to replacing some of my standard dvds.

I waited until the format war ended, just like I said I would do...and that was the spark that made me switch to Blu.

I purchased an LG Super-Multi-Drive (Blu-ray/HD-DVD combo) for my computer and a Sony Blu-ray player for my main HD set-up back in late September 2008.

The first Blu-ray purchase was The Godfather: The Coppola Restoration (4-disc set) for just $39 on sale.

The second Blu-ray purchase was the Blade Runner 5-Disc Complete Collector's Edition, and thanks to Warner Brother's pitiful quality controls I had to return it a total of three times before I even got a set that had all the correct discs in it.
