... with at least 3,500 votes. Which one did you like the best?
I'm going to have to go with Evil Dead as it depicted what drug addiction takes from them metaphorically and moved it into literal terms, but I also have to give props to Warm Bodies as it shows that Romeo and Juliet truly is a classic that can be reinvented over and over.
Evil dead for me.
The Conjuring. Good flick.
Surprised You're Next is not on the list.
It has a 6.8 rating, but IMDB has it listed as a 2011 film.
Canada 10 September 2011 (Toronto International Film Festival)
USA 24 September 2011 (Fantastic Fest)
I'm torn between Warm Bodies and Curse Of Chucky. Pretty sorry selection we've got there, hate to say...
Haven't seen many, but loved The Conjuring.
Yup i saw it a couple of years ago at tiff. It's hard for me to count it as a 2013 film.
I'be only seen 8 of these but EVIL DEAD was the goriest, most fun I have had at the movies in quite a while. WWZ and CONJURING were great as well. The only other one that I am really looking forward to seeing is CHUCKY.
All I've seen is Evil Dead, Curse of Chucky, and Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters (which I watched today on Netflix). Hansel & Gretel easily gets my vote - it was fun silliness, while the other two were just shite.
THE CONJURING gets my vote though I was surprised at how much I enjoyed the EVIL DEAD remake.I actually thought the CHUCKY film was one of the better entries in the series, sorry it didn't play theatrically.
The Conjuring hands down.
evil dead for me, though hansel and gretel was close, if i could pick 2 these are the 2 i would have chosen, special notes as well though to chucky and conjuring.
It played four film festivals, I guess that's why IMDb doesn't list it as direct-to-video. I think a limited theatrical release in the states would've been cool.
World War Z
Curse of Chucky
Texas Chainsaw 3D
Out of those, I probably enjoyed World War Z the most.
Wow. I can't believe that HANSEL & GRETEL is getting some positive word on here. The trailer looks abysmal. Maybe I'll check it out...
I really enjoyed The Conjuring, followed closely by Evil Dead.
I haven't seen a large number of horror films this year. Very few seemed to appeal to me.
I have heard good things about Hansel & Gretel and VHS2. But, I was pretty impressed with Conjuring and can't picture that changing.
The Conjuring, but Mama was pretty solid for me as well. In third place, and not on the list, I'd put Maniac. Evil Dead bored the hell out of me, World War Z the same, and The Purge was derivative of The Strangers and a letdown.
Insidious 2 has my vote for biggest disappointment of the year.
I still maintain if you turn your brain off, and I mean completely off, it's possible to enjoy Texas Chainsaw 3D.
As for I Spit On Your Grave 2, could care less about that crap.
