Have a couple questions that I hope someone who was brave enough to spring for the import dvds can answer:

    1) DELLAMORTE DELLAMORTE: I read that the english mix on the import DVD has subtitles that can not be turned off. Is this true? How is the dvd?

    2) NIGHTMARE CITY S.E.: has anyone ordered this? It looks kinda cool for such a corny movie. Just wondering if anyone has any opinions on it's transfer.

    3) MONSTER SHARK: Sauzma has this title now released but I have seen no reviews of it online. I am interested in seeing the non-US cut of this and hope the picture is LBX and nice looking. Anyone jump the gun and get it yet?

Yeah, I guess I could shell the bucks out myself, but after the turkey import of THE BURNING I received (any news on the uncut import version that is being worked on?), I am a little more cautious! [IMG]

Dellamorte Dellamore does have German subtitles that are defaulted "on". However, it is very easy to turn them off, at least on my player.

The DVD is very good. No extras, but the picture quality is very good. It may be missing the slightest bit of sharpness, but I suspect that's the PAL to NTSC conversion that my cheapo player is doing. If you like the movie, then you must get this DVD. Who knows when an R1 version will be available?

Make sure you read our full review to the DellaMorte DellaMore PAL DVD, which can be found at http://www.horrordvds.com/reviews/a-m/dd/ . I've updated it to the "new look", redid all the scans and cleaned up the screenshots - review looks much better now. [IMG]

As for other imports, we are working on increasing our reviews of import dvds. Expect a lot more starting in the new year. Make sure you check sites like Splatterhouse - they're in the UK and end up reviewing a lot of PAL DVDs.

I've been contemplating ordering the MONSTER SHARK disc for a review for the site, the only thing is I'd have to perform a modification on my player before I could actually play it, which involves soldering, which has always been difficult. Still, it's one of my favorite monster movies, so the idea of getting it just won't go away.

  5. The Nightmare City DVD is okay as far as image quality, AND the mother f---ing subtitles show up at will. they come on only in certain parts. very annoying.
