Dario Argento's middle feature in his witch triology, INFERNO, has finally made its way to Blu-ray thanks to the gods at Blue Underground. It's certainly had its share of followers, whether fans or detractors. Where do you stand with Argento's much maligned movie?

Shame on me as the last option is my vote. I'll get around to it. :p

The best of the Three Mothers trilogy but not Argento's best is what I voted. I like Suspiria but I like Inferno more but I think his best is Deep Red.

It's flawed for sure, but the ideas are most intriguing (more so than Suspiria). Some tightening of the script could have made this better than its predecessor, but in the end there's just too much that doesn't make a lick of sense to push this to the top of Argento's work.

It's better than most of his movies (post OPERA).

I voted for "better than most of his movies."
I prefer Deep Red, Tenabrae, Phenomena & Suspiria, but I still very much enjoy Inferno.

Better than most - but it's not better than Suspiria.

Pretty much where I stand. I will probably be watching the Blu-ray later this week.

Better than most of his movies - I really enjoyed it, especially the underwater scene. Great atmosphere.

i love it, no doubt about it, but it's not a masterpiece. Also, I can't say I like it better than Suspiria. And finally, I must admit that I like so many of the films he made leading up to Inferno so much, that I can't even say that it's better than most of his movies. So I went with "Good, but with it's share of problems," because it's definitely not perfect. However, I would probably describe it as "great," not just "good".

It's better than most of his movies. I love the movie, one of my favorites, but Suspiria beats it for the best of the trilogy. Too bad the third movie couldn't live up to the first two!

True dat. What a letdown that film was. Ugh. What has happened to Dario's output?

Good but with its' share of problems.

The music score can't touch Suspiria's. It looks very good but nowhere near better than Suspiria. Intriguing story elements but not scarier than Suspiria. And, not as colorful as...you get the point.

It's somewhat tied in the problems' department with Phenomena, which I think has better music and ... I say Nicolodi looks better, gave a better performance there as opposed to here. But, it didn't have bugs in it apart from the ants. But, Phenomena didn't show an animal being killed. Inferno has a killer ending (I think) and Phenomena has a killer opening. Though neither's opening nor ending is better than... As for the underwater scenes- they're almost equal. Phenomena doesn't have a door to a whole room under there

    this one: [IMG]

but the pop-up corpse was lame. Phenomena may have had less going on, but it took place outdoors which gave us the opportunity to watch Jennifer swim above the water level and emerge elegantly, and it had fire over it. And, c'mon- her scream was legendary (or should be). Rose... bumps her head on a ceiling which is really a floor. Good surreal detail but I like Phenomena's better.

Dario Argento's Inferno is . . . a picture that deserved a better lead actor.

Leigh McCloskey -- shoot him down :fire:

Same here, certainly not on the same level as Deep Red and Suspiria.

Actually, I haven't been especially fond of most of Argento's leading actors. He's just never been an actors' director.

Did anyone else not know he was Terri's boyfriend, Kevin, in Just One of the Guys? It took me almost a year or more to make the connection. He looks older here than he did there, seems to have a whole other way of speaking, and also seems to be taller somehow.
