True--but for economic reasons it was beneficial for me tu use paypal which diabolik takes...
I bought my copy from Diabolikdvd. I'm not a fan of Italian horror but I do love Argento! My track info says I should receive it within 2 days of shipping. That's pretty cool I'll give it a spin this weekend.
Watched this last night--the transfer was excellent!
I just watched this tonight. Transfer looked great, audio was wonderful. I had forgotten how visually impressive this movie is. Wow. I love the close-ups, they seem like such a simple thing, and yet are so creepy.
I'm still waiting for the CO release. Promises to be a killer DVD.
What do you mean by CO release? DVD's are compressed what could be so great about Inferno on DVD again?
CO = Camera Obscura. For more info on their release I'd suggest you read this very thread.
And DVD is fine with me.
Mainly two reasons: $$ and the fact that movies aren't my primary source of entertainment. To each their own ofcourse.
I just hope at some point Inferno will get a Region 1 special edition.
it is via blue underground 2011
I bought the Arrow Blu release but the special features DVD doesn't play on my blu-ray player.
The extras are region free but in PAL.
I just played it on my laptop and hooked that up to my TV and it was all good. Now, I know my panasonic player does not recognize PAL. Overall, I was very happy with my purchase. Amazon shipped it really fast and I only spent like $25.
I am glad that both discs for the forthcoming Deep Red release will be blu-ray.
All Arrow releases are very good.
Battle Royale (Limited Edition) and Bay of Blood, both from Arrow were shipped today.
I really want those too. I always wanted to see Bay of Blood but every copy I've had either had bad video or audio quality and I could never finish it for those reasons.
Here you have some reviews...
A Bay of Blood (the color on the new release is different but I like it a lot):
I'll join the crowd and say that, while I didn't hate it the first time, it seemed quite poor compared to Suspiria. Not visually, but as far as everything else was concerned. Over time, I began to understand this puzzle of a film a bit better and appreciate its enigmatic nature. It's one of Argento's most polarizing movies to fans, but now proudly one of my favorites. http://inferno1980.blogspot.com
